I think one needs to monitor time if other responsibilities are being neglected. That's the plumb line for me, and it is easier for that to happen that you might think. But only you know when that line is crossed.
I collected from about 1998 thru 2005 and totally dropped out until December of last year. If you search, you will find others that have done the same.
Everything for a season. The only constant in life is change.
