Mine and 50+ other properties....i work out of the back of my old toyota pickup with a push mower , weed eater and blower thats it. . Its alot of work but i have very few costs and get lots of exercise for 8 - months of the year. Not to mention i make pretty good money also.

    Quoted from TractorDoc:

It may not be laziness -- as stated there are people that do not enjoy the task and it can be more cost effective to have the work done by someone else. If anything you are making smart use of your time.
    This is laziness:

Ugh... i get to do alot of yards that look like that unfortunately...

    Quoted from radium:

I've got 9 acres. Luckily most of it is wooded, but I cut about three acres with a 60" Dixie.

    Very nice

    Quoted from maestro:

I mow about 1.2 acres with a John Deere D170 (54 inch deck), string trim and blow and it takes ma about 2 hours total once per week. I would hang my head in shame if I had my wife doing this. On the flip side she will burn a hole through my skull if I dare touch the dishwasher or laundry. Seriously! That being said, I once found myself in a position where it was impossible for me to mow for a few weeks. I got a price from the crew I saw doing my neighbor's spot. Quoted me $150. So that's 75/hr if I do it myself. I left it grow tall that time because I refuse to believe its worth that much money. I wish I knew where some of the guys are getting their prices from I see in this topic. Everyone where I live charges stupid high prices for everything.

That seems kinda high. I do alot /mostly downtown yards so no super big yards and they usually take 20-45 min with weed eating and blowing off the walkways. I only charge 10-30 bucks per and i average 30-35 a hour when all said and done after cost and taxes. I cld probably charge more but i have a good rep and try to help people out on cost which is why i have over 50 properties and get more and more every week it seems lol.
