We have a push mower on it's last legs. Have been looking at battery push mowers and following seems to be liked and common.
Anyone have real experience with these? Do they really perform as good as or close to a gas mower? Hopefully not wimpy, under powered, delicate etc. Our area to push mow is about 1/2 acre. Yard is rough enough that a gas mower lasts about 3 seasons.
Looking,
Battery mowers have come a long way and long way down in price in the past few years and are about the same price as a comparable gas mower.
Looked through a bunch of stuff and best price for best electric mower that is comparable to what have used is following:
In stock at Home Depot. 7.5 amp hour largest battery lasts about an hour. Wet and or tall reduces time battery lasts. Battery recharges in a hour. Way lighter and way quieter than gas mower. Has a 5 year warranty. Looking batteries last about 3 or 4 years and are 200 to replace.
Have had 3 22" inch self propelled gas mowers about 9+ cutting seasons of use. Worst case if this lasts 3 years still same cost as gas mowers but push button start, no pull starting, no gas, no oil, no spark plug, no filter, no loud ass hot engine. No driving to get gas and having stinky gas in the car, No gas preservative. Blade replacements are available online.
Battery mowers are also designed so battery can be used in other tools. Clippers weed wackers, blowers, small chain saws etc.
Thank You
