On our farm we have three other mowers. A John Deere 6440 with an 8 foot Brush Hog, a 305 Versatile currently hooked to our 14 foot Brush Hog batwing and a Bobcat T770 the can mow with a Brushcat mower for normal mowing or a forestry mower that is when you want to make trees up to 12” into kindling.

I also find it relaxing and it's good exercise.
Two springs ago I picked up a Rain Machine sprinkler system controller which connects with NOAA METNO etc.
I ditched my smelly riding lawnmower (too much work steering around all these trees) and bought a EGO POWER+ 56v cordless electric self-propelled walk-behind mower. Man, I love this thing! Can't say enough good about it.
Lightweight, easy to maneuver.
Charge lasts an hour at full power (a bit less if grass is extra long or you overuse the propulsion) and recharges in under an hour.
No gas or oil (obviously). Flip it over anytime you like, nothing to leak. No gas station runs. No tune-ups or end-of-season maintenance.
So quiet! Can even mow at night, it's less noisy than a weed whacker. Even has a headlight, the low angle of which really helps you see where you've already mowed (as opposed to the one high up on a riding mower). I don't need to crank my headphones so loud, either.
Same battery can be used on their other tools. Thinking about their chain saw (speaking of trees...)
The recharging station is bad ass, looks like something out of Star Trek.
Unexpected bonus: I swear, the absence of gas fumes and combustion exhaust actually seems to ameliorate my allergies, they're nowhere near as bad without the added irritants from a gas engine.
And I'd much rather get some exercise by mostly just walking than by cranking that riding mower's steering wheel around constantly, much easier on the ol' shoulders.
Although if I had much more than my half acre, I'd still use a rider. Wonder if battery riders are next. Or forget doing it at all, I see that they have robotic mowers now, I haven't scanned this whole thread so maybe it's been discussed...

I've had my Ego mower for 3 years now and I will never go back to gas. I was afraid that it might not mulch leaves well but it mulches better than my old Honda mower did. The batteries are expensive but mine has lost very little charging time so far.
The Ego 56 volt blower is great too.

We've had one for 7 years. After 5 or 6, the battery just wouldn't last very long. Unfortunately, it was only like $100 more to buy a new self-propelled mower with battery and charger than buying just a battery and charger... sold the old one for about $100 so...
We have the EGO weed whacker and the EGO leaf blower too - the latter is fun, and if it doesn't snow much, can be used to clear the driveway!
