    below is a template with a guess at where the cam edges are. The guess is based on a not-great-angle picture of a carnival queen that has switch stacks 2 and 3 swapped incorrectly, so not sure exactly when stack 3 operates relative to stack 2.

    If you want to cut out the template and hold it against cam 1 with the notch lined up, you can tell us for sure. Since stack 3 is operated by a pin, you'll want to rotate the cams and watch when the stacks 2 and 3 actually rise/fall....it depends a little on the length of the stack 3 switch blades and the shape of the cam follower under the blades.

    I think the important thing is stack 3 goes down before stack 2 goes down. When stack 2 goes down, switch 2A opens and the timer unit wipers move.

    for example, when you've shot two balls and the 3rd ball is sitting in the runway, the timer unit has stepped four times and is connecting wires 57-7 and 60-6. Trough switch #5 is closed because no ball is sitting on the rollover wire over it. When you shoot the 3th ball, the lifter turns on and 3A closes to trip the score feature lockout trip relay (if feature enabled). Switch 3A needs to be open by the time 2A opens to help prevent the before 4th relay from tripping early.

    switch 1A helps prevent after 5th from tripping early.

    the "tripping early" shouldn't happen. The usual problem is the curved arm hanging below the lift pad that when perfectly positioned keeps the balls in the trough from moving when the lifter is going up/down. If that arm is bent, the balls can move back-n-forth enough in the trough for the trough switches to briefly change state.

    if you want to take a shot at the shutter cams with that template, that'd be great too.
