I personally do not have any kids of my own, but I tested the waters a bit with my 2 nephews, (14 and 7) when I went up to visit my family 3 weeks ago. They too are big fans of the video game consoles and recently I took them to a local "fun world" where we found an NBA Fast Break left for dead in a back corner of the venue with a flickering DMD, weak flippers, broken upper play field, and a closed off ramp, but some how, some way, they kept going back for more and more. After other games, the youngest one kept insisting we go back and play it as we made a competition out of it with my self and his older brother with a cash prize of $10.
After the Go-Karts, I decided to hit up an old laundry mat that I used to play at growing up and found a Flinstones and a Cue Ball Wizard. We were in there with all the locals looking at us like we were crazy, game after game. Let's just say that I spent my prize money and then some. It was great knowing that some of the millennial generation still dig the Pinballs. The most satisfying part about the whole experience is that even after 2 hours in the Laundry Mat, the youngest one still wanted to go back to the "Fun World" to play that broken down NBA Fast Break. We never went back and he kept insisting all the way home to see if they would sell it to us for his room. haha I told him someday...
That someday turned out to be 4 day's later. To the 7 year olds in all of us… Keep Flippin' my friends.
