I was reading the Pinbot manual (https://www.ipdb.org/files/1796/Williams_1986_Pin_bot_Manual.pdf) and on page 11 it mentions that machines may be configured (modified?) to provide alternative awards in the form of "tickets" or "tokens".

Has anyone ever seen this on location? I think it'd be a great gimmick for a home machine

Pinball magic also had a ticket dispenser installed on some machines from the factory-I have one of those rarer examples

SlugFest came with a baseball card dispenser. Other games, going back to EM days, could get a card dispenser added. I played a Paul Bunyan on location in the 90's with one, when baseball cards were essentially worthless. It was still cool to win that worthless card. Never know who you might get.

Strikes N’ Spares and all System 3’s support ticket payouts.

Safe Cracker would dispense a token if you achieved certain things.

All Capcoms also came with an option to dispense tickets from the factory. My Flipper Football has tickets. I’ve seen many Breakshots that also have a ticket dispenser

All WPC machine software had the capability of operating a ticket machine. Williams/Midway sold a Ticketc Dispenser kit, which involved mounting a metal frame case to the side or bottom of the cabinet and routing some wires. I have a board/wiring kit, but sadly lost the ticket cabinet/mech long ago (but, they're still available..)

Yes. We got a TSPP and a Pirates from a chuck E Cheese that used replay level to display a special ticket worth 50x normal ticket value. They removed the ticket dispensers, but the ticket counters and other evidence was still in there.

I think Pirates had a special ROM that said "CHUCK E CHEESE" when you booted up. Maybe it was just a region setting.

Safecracker has the best coin award rolling down the glass....

Chuck E Cheese used to have tickets for high scores on pinball. Scores that beat a set value got a single oversized ticket worth 150 tickets in this case.
