Do plastic washers really protect corners of playfield plastics?

    Yes, to some degree

Yes. I install them in every game that doesn't have game-specific plastic protectors available.

I install normal steel washers between plastic and post. They really work, and I can't see why the plastic washers would not work as well.

Hi-jacking this thread. If anyone needs full, custom laser cut 1/16" acrylic plastic protectors for your game check out our shop or message me if we don't have them available. Not only do they prevent plastics breaking they can provide heat protection from incandescent bulbs.

    Yes they do work

Yes! As long as the edge of the washer or protector is proud of the plastic you want to protect.

I cut out my own custom protectors using 1/16" clear polycarbonate... that stuff is almost bulletproof. I cut and drilled it using very aggressive blades and techniques and unlike plexiglass, it's nearly impossible to crack. It also sands and polishes nicely when done.

My original plan was to simply make washers out of 1/16" polycarbonate and next thing you know I am making patterns and doing full size protectors.

CPR sells them too if you’re ordering new plastics it’s easy to add to your order…

I'm quite proud, and very aggressive myself so I can relate to this!
