Just wondering if there's anyone else that gets a headache or feels dizzy from LEDs?

    #2 2 years ago

Flashing LEDs definitely give me a headache.

I do not like LEDs in pinball, especially in the GI of pinball machines.

They look odd compared with incandescents, in any game. There is nothing on the market that I've seen that matches an incandescent for appearance, either - I know full well that this is subjective.

    I'm a bit of a curmudgeon, though.

It seems like my eyes can't handle certain lights on certain games. SMVE, MET premium, and BSD have been the worst.

I almost never have an issue with MET pro LED for some reason, though..

Maybe it's a certain color flashing or fade pattern that bothers me

Yeah, I am not a fan. If you mean the cheap LEDs that people put in games where they flash with the 60Hz AC strobe.

Or the face melting ultra unbelievable incredible stupid bright ones.

In games that are designed for LEDs its usually okay. Older games with the super bright leds do bother me.

    Melt this!

Nope- not at all, particularly wth the recent Stern titles. My friends and family are blown away by the light show on my GOT premium.

GOT lighting sucks. The flashing and strobing GI in certain modes/MBs is the worst thing about the game. Yes, even worse than the art.

nope being sober gives me a headache though

but some super bright lights are freaking annoying

I like the lighting for Winter is Coming, but the spazztastic flashing when you score a jackpot, not so much.

Has anyone put incandescent bulbs in a new stern that came with LEDs?

Overnight flashers are a mistake, and give many people headaches. Less bright should be used closer to the player, especially with domes above the play field.
Definitely inany games, in many locations incandescent is better.
I mostly encourage when one wants color, or bounces light with filex, that LEDs are more effective.
With Matrix 12v one can control the brightness of each flasher in many cases.
