    Is it possible to put a Stern or a B/W dmd into a Data East pin?

    Yes. As long as they're both 128x32 orange plasma displays and not the newer red Stern LED displays.

    Okay, cool.
    Just to be more specific, I have a dmd that used to sit in a STTNG, and another one that used to sit in a LOTR, I should be able to put any of them into a LAH, correct? Anyone I should prefer?

    I have now replaced the dmd. Theres a problem. The sms only displays the display version and the game will not start.

    Did the LAH boot before the display was installed? Looks like it could be a game rom not matching the display rom issue.

    Yes. Everyting was booting before the swap.
    I can still hear the music from tftc and are old talking.

    I reseated the display rom and now everything works.

    Williams and DE used about the same voltage. Neat trick is if you have a gottlieb system 3 that is showing outgassing it often will look good in a williams/de. Gottlieb used slightly lower voltage to drive their displays. Used that trick more than once.
