I just turned on my DE Star Wars pinball after not using it for a few weeks and I noticed that the DMD did not display anything for around 15 seconds after the machine started. Everything else looks to be ok and starts except for the display.

The machine has a reasonably new Xpin power supply so I don’t think it is an issue from there. This is the first time I have noticed this issue so thought I would see if anyone else has had the same issue so I can fix before it gets worse.

I was guessing it could be something on the DMD controller boards but not really sure where to start looking. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for everyone’s responses and I hope it’s not on it’s way out although that is the joy/headache of owning a 90s pinball. I will keep an eye on it as it is only the first time I have seen it. I don’t have any mods on my SW and all my other DE machines all have original boards.

It sounds exactly like the issue mikat11 has with their LW3.

Will see what happens and if needed it is a good excuse to get a ColorDMD.

Quoted from PinballManiac40:

With 3 games having the same game boards, you can easily swap to find out which is causing the issue. Might be easier to swap the whole speaker panel to start with, which will be the DMD and the DMD controller board.

I will switch the DMD's around on the weekend to see if I can replicate the issue.
