Hi there
Can anyone help me with this DMD issue? Multiple lines occurred on my DMD. I re-seated the video cables as well as all the ribbon cables a few times but the issue is still there.

My questions are:
1. What is the best way to test the DMD voltage? E.g. In WPC 95 where is the best way to place a ground cable for my multimeter? I know it has a test point name GND on the power board. However, I am dealing with high voltage and I want to place the ground cable more safely or more securely.

2. I got another WPC 95 game (NBAFB). If I wanted to swap the video and sound board over to my AFM. Do I need to swap the RAM as well?

3. Can anyone tell me what the issue maybe?

I am sorry, I don’t have a lot of experience when fixing or checking pinball issues.

Please help me and check the images for more information.

Just put that dmd in your other machine, to see if the dmd or the board is your problem!

Hi Wellsrmed
Thank you for your help. I swapped the DMD between two machines last night. The line issue is still there at my AFM.

Issue is still there. My NBAFB DMD and board are working fine. After I swapped them over between AFM and NBAFB. The results are the same. My NBAFB now has my AFM board and the DMD. The good news is my NBAFB still working great. On the other hand, my AFM still has the same issue. Matter of fact it has more line than before.

I also tested the power supply. The reading as follows:
-114
-88.5
0
0
04.8
11.3
-6.39

I really don’t know what went wrong. I hope it is a corrupted video Rams issue. Let me know if anyone has this type of issue before

Many thanks
Paul

Seems like your CPU is the culprit! Lift all of the socketed chips on it a bit and push them back firmly! Plus reseat all ribbon cables everywhere!

Did you run the display test? It will give you some insight as to what might be wrong.

Oh No! I just did this. Since I replaced a new 1.13b rom a week ago. So I decided to put my old rom back (1.0). Now my DMD is completely gone and only one line is remaining. Plus the machine is not starting now.

I can’t do any testing at this stage.

Need more suggestions please.

I believe it could be a CPU issue. I replaced my a good CPU board from my NBAFB to my AFM. DMD is working fine now. However, it shows “incorrect G10 for this game.” Now should I replace the whole CPU board? Not sure what to do next.

Oh! Silly me. I forgot to change the chip from NBAFB to AFM. Now I am 100% sure it is related to my CPU board. What should I do now?

Now put the AFM-CPU in your Fastbreak, maybe the issue is gone!

Hi Wellarmed
Thank your for your help.
Problem is sorted. All my DMD issue was caused by this chip.
