I just picked up a machine and the dmd has what looks like two dotted vertical lines. What is the likely cause of this?

You may have done this already but I would try reseating all the ribbon cables and any wires associated with the display

Yeah I did that, but I'm gonna replace the ribbon cables with a known working cable after work today and see if that helps.

Ok, I've figured out that the problem is with the power supply board, not the dmd itself or the ribbon cables. Any thoughts on where to go next?

If you mean he DMD controller board, then the RAM 6264 IC would be the next posibility.

Yes, that is what I mean. Thanks for info, I'll definitely look at replacing the ic and hope that does it.

It did fix it on one I repaired a month ago. I soldered a socket on the board so I can easily change it in the future or use the board to test other 6264 parts.

Thanks Maniac, I replaced the ram chip and the dmd is working fine.
