The text on my DMD gets a bit blurry after a game or two.
"extra" dots appears close to the digits and text. Have checked
the displayboard for cold soldering and reconnected all connectors
to the board and the dmd....any more ideas?

Have you tried re-seating the display driver ROM ? (It's usually on a socket).
Otherwise it's possibly a heating and age problem with the driver IC.

I'd re-seat all the roms. It looks like there are some cool homemade rom upgrades for that machine including one that adds swear words ... LOL
I don't know anyone in Sweden but I do have a lady friend in Sandnes, Norway.
