Glad to hear he's catching up. I love my DMD Extender.

Quoted from Crash:How did you that to work with ColorDMD? I heard there isn't a 14-pin ribbon pass through on that. Did you pass through using the Extender board?
There is no color DMD. That is a DMD Extender setup which provides only 4 colors to replace the standard DMD shades. He has a static background image applied which makes it look colorful.
Quoted from dnaman:Hi David.
Is there support for PNG or something other than BMP for the background images? Also, is there support for more than 99 files?
I have what I would like at this point but as individual BMP files they sit at 800KB but as PNG (also supports transparency) they are only 86KB for instance. Loading 99 BMP files takes a while on startup.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks.
You are best contacting Dr. Pinball through his website contact. He's been inactive here for over 2 years.
Quoted from SilverballSleuth:Is this product open source? Could someone else make something similar?
It is not open source unfortunately. My concern is if my SD card dies and I'm unable to contact Dr. Pinball for the code to replace it, in that case the whole thing would be junk. Someone else could make something similar but it takes time and skill.
