Hi guys,

I recently replaced my original MPU089 which was troublesome with a rottendog board which appears to be working fine. Although i am now noticing when booting up my Terminator 2 machine the DMD display takes some time to actually appear. The time it takes is quite random anything from 10 seconds up until 60 seconds after a couple of tests before it appears.

Any thoughts on this?
Is it something to be concerned about i am 100% sure it is related to the new rottendog board as i did not have any DMD delays with the original Williams board.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks for your response guys really appreciate your assistance.

I have tested the DMD HV and have the following results:

Pin 1 (orange): -120.2 volts
Pin 2 (blue): -108.2 volts
Pin 3: Key
Pin 4: Ground
Pin 5: Ground
Pin 6 (gray): +4.9 volts
Pin 7 (gray-yellow): +9.0 volts
Pin 8 (brown): +67.5 volts

It appears Pin 7 is quite low.

What are your thoughts?

Regards,
Scott

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply.

I am happy to buy a new DMD display board, just curious what are your thoughts about different colour DMD boards? Something you would recommend? Or just stick with the basic 5901-12784-00 - Display DMD?

Regards,
Scott

Hi PinballManiac,

Unfortunately i dont have a spare DMD board to test it with, but i am considering purchasing one, i guess it couldnt hurt having a spare if it turns out not to be the culprit.

Although i did read (sorry i cant seem to find the source now) that this issue could be caused by the WPU board getting stuck at certain points upon boot, not sure how reliable the forum was that i read it from, but was not in pinside.

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Scott
