I think you did good to fix this as best you could, smart thinking , well done!
At least you’ve taken matters into your own hands to preserve it best no matter the outcome regarding any warranty JJP/stern/etc

Quoted from solarvalue:I guess the dilemma I would have is this: let's say you have the rippling/pooling and you follow this advice and leave it. What happens if the rippling then starts to chip and JJP/Stern later tells you: "sorry, this is normal wear, here's some new posts or stickers (or whatever)"? Now you have a chipped playfield when you could have flattened it out and maybe prevented the chipping.
Well put, this is exactly the point.. do I wait on another party to make me whole, which wel maybe never, debating how to solve , or do I make sure now, personally , that things dont deteriorate any more in the meantime
I chose the latter, and feel a lot better for it
Yes, their livelyhood is at stake, its a thin line for them to walk on right now, with connections to both sides, often very friendly as most pinball related things are.
Its a serious problem , definitely , but no dealer wants to screw up a good relationship carefully built up over years, decennia even
Quoted from AUKraut:Close, but not quite. Mylar does have an adhesive on one side, and it makes another lamination layer of rigidity, albeit small. Just look at a mylared shooter lane versus an unmylared one, the mylared shooter lane does hold up better....
Do agree with you on a rubber or neoprene washer would be better.
All true, but mylar applied to keep artwork in place is different than protecting from force above like a shooter lane.
If the clear in the shooter lane decided to let go, the mylar would come off too.
Having said this, a circle of thin mylar under a post always helps keeping chips in place .( get a decent brand of auto stone chip film. Super thin and super strong. Cheap clear film wont help much and pool by itself
