    Most people use PIANO WIRE to create gate wires and switch actuators. I think Marco sells 4 different thicknesses by the foot. The reason piano wire is used is it maintains its shape/bends once put in place. It springs back into original shape if compressed. It is quite strong and stays exactly as you made it originally, within reason.
