Okay, here's some of the machines I've done DMD extenders on.

Never mind all my pictures look like I was drunk when I took them; I wasnt!

On most of the games I was trying to color match the speaker panel and or playfield.

Every single LCD screen I used seemed to have different color/brightness. Despite being the same model number. Your results will vary.

Quoted from Crash:

Does this mean we will be able to remove the SD and have the program run in memory, and the Pi will reboot from the SD card when it is re-inserted?

This is a great feature and one I've been happy to test when doing colors on Gladiators and Stargate. The program does pause waiting for the card to be reinserted. It freezes the screen when waiting. And when you insert the card again it reboots the pi to reload the new colors/settings.

Whitewater is looking nice. Very nice color choices!

I've purchased several of these:

ebay.com link: itm

Usually it takes 7 days to receive it. Ask and see if that controller will work for your screen. I'm betting it will.

I couldnt find a good tap point for power for gottlieb games.

I cheated and took an old external cdrom drives power supply that had +5 and +12 power output, made a connector and plugged it into the power box up front near the coindoor. One of the outlets turns off and on with the game. Works for me. Less strain on the old power supply too!

Quoted from 2Kaulitz:

so one plug in pinball should turn on off with the switch ?

Yes, on Stargate and Gladiators it does for me. Wipeout too, I believe.

I originally had the PI powered via a custom cable hooked to the DMD power cable, but preffered the separate power supply for both - Less strain on the power supply of the pinball machine.

Quoted from 2Kaulitz:

K i might try a different controller as if hook up to my tv its on right away and i'm using a 12v power supply. Its not huge deal just at start up its gotta be the controller having a delay.

some of the LED display controllers I've used take a while to boot some are shorter than others. still all about 4 to 6 seconds

I doubt it's a power supply problem.

Freddy looks great in green!

Quoted from Crash:

He is sick at the moment, so you may not get a reply. I don't see why he would object though, it's not like you can really use the software to any degree without buying the board.

And protected to only run on the sd card provided I believe. (Via the config file)
