Quoted from Mbecker:

So for the nib newb -- how does shipping usually work, is it always extra or is it free sometimes? Less if I use a distributor close by? Or do many people just pick up their game direct and drive it home? I'm assuming with shipping they work with you so you can be there to receive it?

My last NIB's all came from RL Carriers (JJP and Stern) and the shipping was just worked into my agreed final price. That said, if you want to arrange a shared / bulk shipping or pickup you could probably get a couple hundred off your final bill.

I don't know if it has changed any from Stern since my last NIB from them last year but I would expect it more or less still just works this way. The average price for a palleted pin, shipping in the States is about $250-$325 and that is through bulk buys, usually through a freight aggregator. More for you and I if we go out and arrange it on our own.

Buy your game from an out of state distributor, no sales tax.

Most factor in curb side delivery in they price.

I recommend JJ at Game Exchange of Colorado.

But whoever you choose be sure to call for the lowest price possible

Seeing these prices makes me so sad to live in Europe. You have no idea.

This pricing floor seems like pure BS and I doubt it came from Stern.

This works well till you get a fair tax letter from your state asking to account for every out of state purchase and pay tax for the last three years. I was flagged by some shipping document. Anyway, I would still go the out-of-state route to avoid tax, but it's a possibility it could catch up with someone.

Where else would it come from? People were selling it for $200 less and all of a sudden decided to do this?

Im sure there are certain distributors who pushed for this and now everyone has to pay more.

That's pretty much the story I was told some distributors were bitching about others selling games for hundreds cheaper

Yeah. I heard the same thing. Apparently history repeats itself.

The distributors? I dunno. Why undercut your competition if you can come to a mutual agreement to keep prices up. Look at the demand for GB. Not sure I would be offering too many discounts either. At least publicly that is.

I bought my NIB GoT from Automated Services in CT, just a few hours from me. They knocked off a nice chunk from the price for me to pick it up myself.

It's nice to see JT design a hit. WWE didn't sell, Mustang did ok, but it's nice to see him have a top seller.

Buy more games from Stern, become a bigger distributor, get better pricing.

They are also known to be a little pricey in my experience. But if you're happy you're happy.

Markp99 ???didn't you half to pay tax on the game!!!!

Been trying to price a SMVE and I'm getting this line even from my previous distributor. I know they are not as popular as GB so I would expect it to be a bit cheaper. Has anyone heard differently in the last 2 weeks?

Quoted from hank527:

Minimum price is to be no less than $4995.00 anyone quoting less can get suspended by Stern. It is the dumbest thing I've seen in awhile.
I'd recommend Cointaker as they always put the customer first

MAP (minimum advertised price) is there for a reason and I don't know why people are so outraged over it. It sets the bar more even for smaller distributors to compete fairly and the more distributors Stern has, the better. Horizon Hobby does the same thing and they are one of the biggest hobby vendors there is. It's the right way for Stern to protect their dealership network.

There's a lot of people paying FAR more for their NIB games than many of you so maybe realize how fortunate you are still.
