If I wasn't a fan I wouldn't have been ready to put my cash up to go now would I? I'm just not going to spend my money and not get the full experience. Its funny that it is adult when the governor said to shut the state down but but it isn't adult when he says open it up event though all the evidence says the lockdowns were not necessary and they overcompensated.

#644 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

We're supposed to listen to the scientists now. Remember, they never screw up.

Ohhhhhhh, ok. Ill take that 99.8% chance that I wont die and run with it.

#647 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

With your luck, they will wedge you between a couple fat people on Grizzly Rapids and then sue you when one of them dies.
True story- I actually told the person working there that I refused to sit in a seat already half taken up by somebody else.

Thats what cute grand daughters are for, riding with fat Poppies.

#648 3 years ago
Quoted from Methos:

Regardless of what data is correct or incorrect or who's science is correct or incorrect, the fact is Disney wants the parks open, but the last thing they want is to have national headlines on how they are spreading the disease. That would be a public disaster nightmare. The NYT even admitted recently that concerns or predictions that people made is not coming true when they planned reopening. WDW has the luxury of having a healthy partnership with the Government, while DL does not.
Basically, Disney has had to tread a very fine line here. The only thing I fault them for was the inexcusable silence they gave to the DVC Members, but that is likely more due to the Leadership. Overall, they have handled it the way they have had to. I applaud them for it and I'm visiting WDW in a few days.

So we carry on the charade to make ourselves look good? OK boss

#650 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

Didn't slow down business with the measles outbreak traced to DL a few years ago. If anything, it gave them free publicity.

The whole thing is political theater.

#652 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

It's sad, but it's comedy as well.

I think I should quit before I get a time out

Quoted from o-din:

So, they aren't as stupid and gullible as some would have us believe? There is hope for the future after all!

I disagree

#866 3 years ago

Levi, you act like you are a young kid. You are 50 years old if Im not mistaken.

#867 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I'm guessing some that are offended never took the time to even watch Song of the South.

Song of the south was a great film. It came from stories that the blacks used to tell. There was nothing racist about it, no one was making fun of or degrading them. It only bothers the sheep now because they make everything about race.

Quoted from o-din:

And FYI, Leave it to Beaver was even before my time

Betcha The Beave had no issues with what sex he was or which bathroom to use.

#872 3 years ago

She likes it when he is rough on that beaver. I just watched that episode last week. Wally joined the scouts and he was leaving for camp and The Beaver couldnt go. Anyone think Beavers mom was hot. Just think about what she looked like under that dress wearing just that pearl necklace.

Quoted from girloveswaffles:

and they took out The Dreamfinder (voiced by the late Chuck McCann) and re-voiced Figment as well (And apparently took out most of the Animatronics in the attraction!

on what

#881 3 years ago

I just bought tickets to Orlando for fiddy bucks going and 30 to come back. Not going to WD though, Legoland and Universal.

#882 3 years ago
Quoted from girloveswaffles:

Oops, I thought this was linked to another post. Journey into Imagination. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/disney-fans-thread/page/17#post-6100477
The attraction has literally had the life sucked out of it.

I saw that, sorry but Im not connecting it to a ride Im familiar with.

#886 3 years ago

My grand daughter loved the ride that simulates going to Mars. It actually makes you feel like you are really blasting off into space, not really but the kid thinks so. After we rode it 3 or 4 times and were leaving she saw a plane taking off and she said "look Poppy there goes the next people going to Mars". I wouldnt trade her for the world

#890 3 years ago
Quoted from Methos:

That is probably Mission Space.

That's it. Besides the ride with Brer Rabbit, that was her favorite. Now we rode the water coaster as she called it probably 15 times in 3 days. I hope they don't change it if they haven't already

#894 3 years ago

Agreed your memories with your kids are always the best. My daughter is 5ft at 25. She was always short as a kid. I bought her some thick soled shoes amd put newspaper in them and she wore a hat with a poof in it to make her look tall enough to ride the joker at a 6 flags park. The damn thing got stuck with us on a downhill decline for about 30 minutes and I really thought she was going to fall out. I was holding her in and it’s a damn good thing I was in great shape at the time. Funny she won’t let me do shot like that with my grand daughters

#903 3 years ago

It looks like fun. I would definitely go. If you know the consequences and choose to do it anyway you have no right to sue anyone. Take responsibility for your own actions.

So I’m already pissed and ready to leave. Not only are they assholes about the mask but the first person I see told me I can’t wear the neck gator and I had to buy some fucking paper mask. Fucking bullshit.

Masks are a must, and they enforce it very well. Without their diligence on it, you wouldn't be in Disneyworld.

It’s fun. I just had gotten used to the gator and had it stretched where it didn’t bother me and you know I thing the mask is stupid and does absolutely nothing
But I love popcorn and they won’t let me eat popcorn as I walk.

I’m not using my flash. It’s turned off. That is why some of the pics are blurry. I’m an asshole but I’m not going to ruin someone else’s good time to take pics.

This is so refreshing to hear on Pinside. Shame it's from one of the good guys.

#972 3 years ago

I learned something today. You can bring your own food into the park. We saw some people having a picnic with sandwiches and stuff amd they told me. They let you bring it in. It’s a hassle to eat here now. Most restaurants are closed and you have to order online with a card and they call you when it’s ready and you pick it up and find somewhere to eat it.

#973 3 years ago
Quoted from lancestorm:

The policy is very clear on acceptable face coverings

I don’t organize trips my wife does. And hers something not in your rules. All kids 2 and up have to wear the mask. That is a hassle my grand daughter wants to go back to Leggo land where she doesn’t have to wear a mask

-1
#975 3 years ago

I don’t know what to say. The wife told me me I had to wear the mask. Other than that I was in the dark. I am sucking it up and trying to show everyone a good time. After that I don’t think my family will be back till after the mask order is lifted and it may well be that you have to show proof of the vaccine and my family and I refuses to take it so we all may have to stay in the house.

Tron roller coaster

image (resized).jpgimage (resized).jpg

#992 3 years ago

Hope you enjoyed the pics. The grand daughter decided she wanted to go back to leggoland. She doesn’t have to wear a mask and we don’t have to wear one unless we are on a ride. She also likes the roller coasters

#995 3 years ago
Quoted from Methos:

What other parks do you have lined up?

We are done today

#996 3 years ago

For those that care Leggoland has almost no wait and you only have to wear masks on the rides. In fact no one has asked us to wear them at all. We put them on getting in line and take them off when we get off the ride.

#999 3 years ago

There was barely any food at Disney, it was all closed and you had to be sitting to eat. Universal had lots of food but you had to be sitting to eat. Leggoland doesn’t care but there is t a lot of food. She wanted to come here because there was roller coasters and she didn’t have to wear a mask all day

#1005 3 years ago
Quoted from FalconDriver:

Yea that's true. We did that in 2019 when we were there. I think they started it then.

they do do that but for only a few. The good food restaurants were closed. I wanted a hotdog from the mark place near the entrance but it was closed

#1011 3 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

So you chose to ignore all the readily available information and warnings everywhere... and are pissed they were not bluffing?

Again, I was told by my wife I had to wear a mask if I went. I didn't go through their web sight to read all their rules. I took my gator that I used in Key West with no problem. Nothing was said on the plane ride there and nothing was said all day at Universal, we had a good time and I wore it and nothing was said at Leggoland. We get to Disney and the first person I see starts yelling at me that I cant wear the gator, I have to buy a POS paper mask. I bought it. So The rat makes kids 2 and up wear the mask, you cant eat while you walk. They yelled at the grand daughter for eating a sucker while walking and right there she was ready to go. Add to that that there are no shows and most of the food places are closed and by God you pull that mask down for a second to not breath your own hot air for a while and someone will come out of the woods and scream. I toughed it out but the grand daughter didn't want to go back. On the trip back on the same airline I was told I couldn't wear the gator and handed me another paper mask. Right there I made my decision that Im done with traveling unless the diaper order goes away. Im sick of this fucking farce and basically martial law for a virus that has a 99.8 percent recovery rate.

#1014 3 years ago

That was another thing. It was 80 degrees in Florida. The masks were miserable.
Also, and I’m wondering if anyone else who has been there lately agrees, the people who work at Disney are not even pleasant anymore. The happy happy is gone and it’s more like duck these people. And before
You say it was me, it wasn’t. I was doing my best to be polite because I was with the grand daughter.

So what is you guys opinion of Disney firing that woman from Mandilorian for simple sparkling her mind?

#1020 3 years ago
Quoted from DaveH:

The Disney thread is no place for political discussions, even when they involve Disney stars. That’s what I think of it. If you feel like that discussion could be had without discussing politics, I think you are mistaken.

Probably true

#1024 3 years ago
Quoted from Fizz:

In a bit of a "different" sort of Disney parks news...
Apparently disney has now been forced to add a warning sticker to the package for magic bands, warning people to NOT remove the chip from the band and implant it subdermally into their body.
And when I say they were forced, it's because somebody actually did this.

Let them do it. Darwin.

You will never catch me at Disney again ever. Florida was fully open when I was there yet they were tyrannical about masks even for the kids. "Oh no, you cant pull your mask off to eat a sucker". "You cant pull your mask off to eat popcorn." Who the fuck sits and eats popcorn? Most of the good restaurants were closed and there were no shows. The lines for rides were still long because they wouldn't fill the carts. Sometimes there was on person per cart. But, when it was closing time, no one gave a rats ass if you wore a mask. The mask Nazis disappeared. They crammed you on buses, trains, boats, whatever, as many people as they could get in or on and no such thing as social distancing either, it was elbow to asshole waiting to get out. Yea, Im done with Disney.

Quoted from mkecasey:

but we are still in the middle of a pandemic.

This is laughable. It would be hilarious if it werent so sad and serious. They said two weeks, then it was a month, then it was.... and now it is, oh God the Fauci idiot has no idea. At first it was masks dont do anything then it was wear a mask then two or three. Get the vaccine but still wear the mask. These stupid fuckers have no idea what they are doing except using it as a power grab. States with no mask order have less cases than the ones who are still locked down. Let the chips fall where they may. I just got over it and while it sucked major ass it was no worse than a bad case of the flue. Ive had it, its done. No vaccine for me. And seriously, how would anyone know if they got it from Disney or not.

#1053 3 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I'd love to go to a park like Disney (or Hershey, closer to home) but I'm gonna wait for a bit. Doesn't really sound like that much fun right now.

Go to Universal. They do require a mask, or at least they did when I was there, but they are not nearly as tyranical about it. They had no problem with my gator. IMO they are a lot more fun.

#1084 2 years ago

Did anyone know that you can take your own food and drinks into Disney? I had no idea, I never figured they would allow that. While we were there having a snack by Alladins Magic Carpet ride there was a family having lunch that they had brought in. Besides it being a very nice and quite large family it would have been uneventful except that a pretty male duck came out of the water and sat politely beside the kids and waited patiently for handouts. He ate everything the kids would give home and when they were done he went to sleep. He was probably the most well mannered duck I had ever seen.

To my knowledge, not in the parks. But there are a lot of on property resorts that have pinball in their arcades. Typically the games available have a Disney, Star Wars, or Marvel tie in.

They used to have pins in the parks but they don’t anymore

I remember years ago they had a Monster Bash and a Pirates of the Caribbean next to the gift shop next to the Buzz Lightyear ride. They are gone now. There are no pins in the parks, I asked.

Holy.... I think the most I've spent for a family of 5 was $6k. How expensive is airfare?

Airfare is cheap right now but it is a terrible experience. The flights are full and people are not happy. They want to cram you on a plane and if you so much as take a drink they are screaming at you about the mask. Two black women got into a screaming match before the doors shut and they dragged one of them off kicking and screaming, the other walked off running her mouth the whole way. Other than that, go for it. We paid 60 each way from Houston to Orlando. My daughters ex made sure he kept my grand daughter lat she they missed the plane and they had to pay 400 to fly from Houston to Ft Lauderdale. They arrived at 12PM with a layover till 6AM the next morning. The airport closed so they would have to sit outside and wait in a very crappy part of town. I refused to let my girls sit outside overnight in a crappy part of town with no food or drink or even a place to get out of the rain if it were to storm so I drove 4 hours each way from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale and back. I didnt think a rented Hyundai would go 120MPH. It cost all of 40 in gas.

Quoted from Max_Badazz:

the kids didn't enjoy the crowds, heat, unknown place, "scary" characters (like Donald Duck .

My grand daughter is 6 and doesnt know any of the characters. We cant get the child to watch a Disney movie. She would rather watch Spy Ninjas on youtube. She wanted to ride RIDES as in thrill rides not something representing a character. We only had time to go to one park so we didnt get to do Animal Kingdom or Epcot. My 21 year old son however loves Disney cartoons and loved the attention he got from the Disney Princesses. The young lady who portrays Snow White was simply precious and if I didnt know better I would have thought she was Snow White.

Florida as already wide open according to governors orders so the county has no say. Disney can do whatever they want though.

For a company that has a reputation for being pristine, perfect and magical they do not take care of their pins. Every pin at the hotel I stayed at at Disney was unplayable and filthy.

#1137 2 years ago

When I played it it had a out of order sign on it and it was turned off. Like any other “ rules don’t apply to me” person I turned it on and played it anyway. It managed to get a great game and got my initials on the board.

#1139 2 years ago

The hotel I stayed at last time had 4 games. The only one that was playable was SW and it had just come out. I’m not talking about shit being filthy I’m talking about shit not working and just not booting up.

Quoted from DaveH:

I understood what unplayable meant.

Just clarifying. Usually if all the flippers work I will play it.

Quoted from Methos:

I agree, but what is the alternative?

It’s getting to the point where you just don’t want to do anything because it is such a hassle and they dollar you to death. Disney is so expensive now the average person can’t afford it. The meal plans saved us lots of mo why the last time we went but this are no more. This is the New World Order.

#1166 2 years ago
Quoted from Methos:

I disagree. It is expensive, but the average person can still attend. Airfare is dirt cheap, and there are plenty of cheaper hotels to stay around the resort.
And the mean plan is almost always not of value any more.

We had 5 people and ate like kings with the meal plans. We enjoyed the hell out of it. I can’t be sure if it saved us money or not but we would have eaten a lot less and more
conservatively without it.

Quoted from Methos:

Having said all that, the meal plan encourages gluttony.

I will agree with that 100%

Quoted from Fizz:

Oh, and another, very real alternative to wdw is... Disneyland!
I don't know how DL will change after the pandemic. But, pre-pandemic, there were definitely some pros and cons of DL.
For one thing, DL is consistently open late night, usually until at least midnight. So for me, I loved that. Also, staying "off site" at DL is really the best way to go. Dozens of hotels in walking distance. Not as much pre-planning required and they have a good fastpass system. Getting to DL sucks, though- no magical express or anything like that.

But then you have to go to Ca and that is a big no for me.

#1176 2 years ago
Quoted from Methos:

Same here. I would like to see Walt's original park but no thanks. I'm sure Walt would have taken his name off it by now. Hell, - he wanted to take his name off of it back in 1965 when he started to scout land for WDW.

I cant go to Ca because Im wanted there. Im baaaad man. Actually I didn't pay a ticket there or four of them and if I get pulled over I will go to jail. But it is kindof crazy over there.

#1189 2 years ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Ha that is certainly NOT the reason I thought you didn't want to go to Cali, I was pretty convinced it had something do with poop on the sidewalks.
That's pretty funny! I know someone who did a couple days of jail time for similar offenses in California, but at least he's free to travel there now.

There is that. I my opinion rose people are just plain crazy

I cannot believe that Disneyland still has no parking trams. They're really dragging their feet on returning to normal. With the regression to masks indoors, I have to wonder if they're pausing their ramp up to normal operations as more government restrictions seem increasingly likely.

Things are not going back to normal, anywhere.

#1275 2 years ago
Quoted from Methos:

I hope like hell the mask mandate comes back. That means less people and shorter lines.

Actually it doesnt. They wont fill the carts because of social distancing so it still takes a long time.

Some of the people that work at DW were downright rude. Its like dealing with a flight attendant now days.

#1282 2 years ago

Florida is wide open. You may not agree with it but it is. Disney should leave it up to each person to wear a mask or not. I don’t know what it’s like now but hen I was there a few months back it was horrible they screamed at my grand daughter for eating a lollipop while walking. After that she said she wanted to leave, she was done and so was I. I decided right there and the plane ride cinched it that I will keep my ass at home till this crazy shit is over. I don’t think it will be over but until I can get on a plane or go places without being screamed at and/or forced to wear a diaper over my face I will stay at home.
BTW Levi, I do agree with you.

I’m wondering if not having Magical Express will have any effect on attendance. I’m wondering how many people won’t be able to figure out how to get to and from Disney and the airport.</blockquote
This is a giant inconvenience. Visitors will either have to rent a car to get there or pay a Uber or taxi. For what it cost to go to Disney it does t hurt them one fucking bit to bus people to and from the airport. Next they will stop the busses from their hotels to the parks.

Quoted from seenev:It's funny to think that Disneyland closed voluntarily. The governor actually exempted them from closing at the time. I wonder how different things would have been if they decided to never close. Would they have been forced to close? I actually got covid at Disneyland about a month and a half before they closed, so it always felt too little too late to me anyways. Should have just carried on with some of the preventive measures they were implementing before they shut down.

Disney is a huge NWO, agenda 21 supporter. They support all of this garbage and are probably part of it. The closings and lockdowns are part of the plan.

Anyone see the following news???

https://wdwnt.com/2021/10/breaking-indiana-jones-epic-stunt-spectacular-and-disney-movie-magic-returning-to-disneys-hollywood-studios/
This is AMAZING NEWS!!!!
Hopefully character dining fully returns. Maybe Fantasmic will be next.
I’m going in January for Dopey, but have extended the trip an extra day. Woman I’ve been seeing wants to join me, but at the end of the races, not the beginning where I’m kind of useless. Her adult daughter is coming too…who has never been to a Disney park before.
I’m hoping they quickly ramp up bringing the characters back. Would like to bring them to Chef Mickeys for breakfast. I won’t if we can’t get our pics with the characters.
I want to do 1900 Park Fare, which I always go to the night before the marathon to carb up. As well as having breakfast the day after the marathon. After doing that many miles, I like to pig out on the breakfast there. LOL.

I see a potential real good time.
