We had just come out of Carousel of Progress, and was bored to tears by it. I then see this Alien Encounter sign, and possibly George Lucas might have had a name attached to it?
We walk in, we watch the waiting room robot demo, which after CoP seemed like a large upgrade, and I thought that was the ride. Then they lead us into the theatre to take our seats... and get restrained. And then cue the screaming, lol.
Best memory was the "blood" of the maintenance working dripping on us, and of course having the seat compress as the alien stepped on it.
Man, so sad I'll never get that again. I agree, it could work so well in another park.
PS: I realize my story is also of the old school way you used to visit DW, by exploring it and discovering things and trying them. I'm saddened to read the "park commando" stories with all the reserved seating.
As a child I have never been as scared and calling for my mom than any other time in my life! You have brought back a deeply buried event in my life. Can’t wait to go to sleep tonight lol !
The whole market has been that way for months and months. Buying opportunities everywhere. Back to more WDW experiences/talk!
Particularly interested in Genie+ need. Related family going down to wdw in summertime and don’t want to plan their day, use genie+, etc. How much fun they gonna have in MK w a couple children?
