We cruise every year at least once if not twice...elite members on Princess. Our next cruise is the Kid Rock cruise in April...wish us luck!

Fawzma and others have had very good advice...one thing I didn't see mentioned is bring an umbrella...Caribbean is notorious for sudden showers so if your getting off the boat take an umbrella. Second the suggestion of avoiding the tours, especially through the cruise line. For things like snorkeling or zip lining you can do much better with the local tours. If it's an island of interest like Belize or Turks we rent a jeep and go at it ourselves. Most of the other ports are pure tourist traps as already noted.

As for Disney that's the one line we've never done....we jokingly call them booger ships because of all the kids so take plenty of wet wipes Our kid ended up with lice on a carnival cruise and we had a rotovirus lock down on a princess cruise so it's a crap shoot sometimes.

Lastly good advice on flying the day before...our last two cruises we flew into a tornado and had to abort the landing and almost ran out of fuel and was 5 minutes from being diverted to another airport...this year our engine blew up at 10000 feet and we had to make an emergency landing back at the airport....both time we were within half an hour of missing our cruise. We'll be flying out day before for now on.
