What was the real reason they removed the drop target on DH ? And does it really play that different?

I've heard it was cost. It doesn't add a whole lot to the game and probably another reason why it was pulled out. It does make shooting the warehouse riskier in that the ball hits the drop and sometimes sends it SDTM. Although during warehouse raid you don't have to get the ball in the scoop, just knocking the target down completes the shot.
