I'm thinking there could be two issues.

First, do a switch test and see if any switches, especially optos, are malfunctioning. I'm guessing there might be a bad one somewhere, and the game is trying to fire the coil associated with the switch to clear a potential ball jam.

Then at the same time, there could be an issue with which coil is actually trying to be fired. Go in to the coil test with the knocker connected, and go through each coil to see if any fire incorrectly.

Could be a bad diode or shorted coil somewhere blowing the fuse.

Maybe the knocker has a bad diode or the coil has a short?
