So I try to order in bulk when possible and in doing so it may make sense to combine the types of diodes I order in to a few or one value.

Do people replace didoes with the exact one that is there or do people just replace them with 1N4007's or some other value? I know that higher value diodes should replace lower value ones but is there any other disadvantage other than the values not matching the manual/schematics anymore?

    Everyone's thoughts would be appreciated.

Any advantage to using 1n4148's for switches over 1n4007's?
