So, I am doing a complete restoration of a WH2O. I did a fish tales but one step further with all new switches on the WW. Any who, does it matter what direction the diode goes? Only reason I ask is because the lite grey ring on one side and when I bought them they were package with one side red tape the other white. This just got me thinking is all. Thanks.image.jpg

It matters, the current can only flow in one direction through the diode.

It does, just replicate the way the originals were done.

So, is there a way to know which direction? Or should I just pay attention to the original! Which might be difficult already because I did a few.

    just look in the manual?
pdf page 114 for example shows you that the band goes on the green side for switches.
the solenoid ccts are there as well
