    Yes, 1n4004 diode is a 1n4004 diode, yes one could be larger/smaller physically but they are the same electronically.

    If it is blown the coil will likely lock on at first activation, which will blow the driver transistor. On Joker Poker if the driver board has not had the diodes added per an old service bulletin it could take out chips/other driver items.

    If it happens to be the drop bank that's driven under the JP playfield by a secondary transistor it would take that out (and then possibly the driver board lamp transistors that drive that one).
