I was excited to work on this project because kens restorations are undescribable. This is the newest game I have known of him to restore. Even though I love all pins (there are 2 I dislike), I think because of my age, my favorite era is the solid state games from the first, until High Speed, which was in my dorms my freshmen year.

2 memorable days come to mind right away. The first is the day we moved my gorgar to the house. I bought it when I was 14 for 800 bucks. The second was when I was at the "yellow brick road", our local "cade" when they unboxed the haunted house. I was the first customer to play, after the guys who worked there.(it was a school day and I was sick or something). It stressed me out because it was the only pin that cost 50 cents!!!! so if I drained, I was so upset. I would have to go find more bottles on the side of the road for the deposit. 5 returnables for 1 play. It was an expensive game.

Anyway, next time I get out to CA, I would really like to come see ken whites (and his fathers) collection. Many of the games have my pf's.

Lastly, I drilled and dimpled this pf. I forget to remind people that I also offer that service. (gotta pimp myself a bit) and pics do this pf no justice at all!
Cant wait to see it when complete.

There used to be 3 games on the list, neo. I took one off. All it took was an alternate translight, and genesis is a cool game come to find out. I couldnt get past that translight. I wont go in to why. Its almost always art work. I realize I am hijacking this thread. lets concentrate on the positive. I think the 3 best games ever made are:
    IJ
    GnR
    wiz of oz.
I cant afford any of them but I owned ij and gnr at times. Note, I havent played any of the games that came out in the last 2 years. Dialed in seems really cool, but I spent 5 mins on it, and lawlar games take weeks to figure out.

There are hunderds of games in the number 4 slot, from all eras of pinball

Leathal weapon is a pretty horrible game, mostly the art. I liked the non licenced rip off deadly weapon. which is pretty funny. I love the red headed step child of pinball . gottlieb. I have more gottlieb games than any other, though price plays a big part. One of the games on my want list is Barb wire (really for only 2 reasons. I am keeping this discussion rated g)

Have you played JJP hobbit or potc, and if so...what did you think?

There is a rumor that JJP is re-doing GnR. What's your opinion on that?

I love Diner but wouldn't want this one. Because I wouldn't play it. I'd just put red velvet rope around it. Beautiful, with provenance.

If they make a repro of gnr, I may try to get a home equity loan, or ask chris or dayhuff for a loan. especially with a better sound system I can build up. I had a pretty bad emergency in 08 and sold one of my GnR's to chuck hess for 1800 (which is what I paid for it). I had a collector quality could have been HUO in 07 that I paid 2500 for, with the topper that got sold that week for 400 (it didnt fit with the ceiling).

I Have never owned a JJ game, but I think they are amazing. They seem like some new ideas rather than just cranking out more versions of the dmd model that started in 91.
Of course, I know a buttload about pf's and not much about games. The only new games I have owned are spiderman, dark knight, ac/dc and metallica. I have 10 games set up and I only play007 (sys 80), elvis, and dr. dude for the most part. I really dont have time to work on games any more, and truthfully I dread it because I work 7 days a week on pf;s, and I need to work 8. So the idea of working on my game and not getting paid, sounds like torture to me. I am embarrassed to say this, but when my games break down they get folded up and I buy another.

I forgot to say the important thing. Maybe ken could talk about this. I have set up my process as well as materials to do my best to minimize ball dimples on the pf. its gonna happen, but I have it so the difference between a pf I do and a stock stern or repro is huge. I cant quantify it, and its different on different pf's but it is a huge difference. Much more in the last 2 years than before after discovering a way that makes the biggest result. Otherwise I wouldnt feel comfortable asking people for 575 to just have a flatter cleaner look.

Some titles really beat the crap out of the pf, but I have some pf's installed for 5 years with no ball dimples, or none that I can see without asking to pull the glass.

So I guess I am going to take over this thread to sell my wears. Thanks ken.

JJP to redo GNR? that would be horrible. GNR is an awesome game. they should go a different route. Otherwise it would be like someone trying to make a remake of a movie that was already awesome. We know how well that usually goes.
