Quoted from Tsskinne:Ok what is typically considered a good score on Diner? I just put up 30+ million and feel good about myself but I'm guessing that's nothing in the scheme of things.
I've "flipped" the score on my Diner several times so far.
Quoted from Tsskinne:What do you mean by flipped your score?
I scored beyond 99,999,999
After that, the score starts at 0 again.
I'd love to get a new Diner PF, as well as the mirrored backglass that was supposed to be in the works a while back.
In the meantime, I've designed/machined playfield plastic protectors for Diner, if anyone is interested:

Quoted from Leeb18509:It's been slow going, but I've finally gotten around to getting the new PF installed back into the cabinet. Fire in the hole produced no fires, and no holes so that's good. Time to rebuild the topside!

Wow....
That is one nice playfield?
Is that new?
Quoted from shlockdoc:Everytime I ask Rick or stu about the backglass - crickets. Like it is some bastard step child. I passed on an nos translight thinking it was coming. No reason, no apology, just crickets. Sort of bullsh$t.
I was really looking forward to mirrored backglass for Diner.
It's areal shame the project died.
Diner has to be one of the prettiest pins ever made.
Quoted from hawkmoon:Where do you buy new plastics for the PF??Mine are cracked, and i can't find any for sale??
I have some nice playfield plastic protectors for sell, if anyone needs them.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pf-plastic-protectors-for-salediner
Quoted from Leeb18509:Any chance you would sell one protector separately? For the center pop plastic.
No, sorry
Quoted from Leeb18509:Well, after a more than a few 3+ hour nights after my day job I'm pretty much finished with it! Still a few small details but nothing major. Not the toughest shop ever, but definitely some pain in the ass little things here and there. Not mention my first PF swap. Here's a few final pics...

Looks great....
Though your cup is missing the decals.
Quoted from Pinballgeek:About the cpr playfield that has been in the works for nearly 3+ years , will it ever see the light of day ?
Starting to have my doubts.
Yes....that is normal. It allows you to change lanes. You want to light each letter of EAT
Hit your right flipper...lane changes to the right...hit the left flipper, the lane changes to the left.
Quoted from Tomass:Did you know that if you end a game with a ball locked, you can start a new game before the match sequence ends and you get to keep the lock? Kinda cheap, but just did it accidently.
I didn't know that.
Quoted from Cmjb13:Playfield is worn in some spots. Does CPR do good work with their replacement playfields?
I've bought several playfields from CPR....they do great work.
I'm on the pre-order for a Diner playfield.
Quoted from jalpert:Anyone interested in a new repo cup with decals? $112 shipped.
PM sent
Quoted from Cmjb13:So I’m playing Diner today and I notice that the some of the playfield lights on the right hand side are out starting with the ice cream and working up.
I lifted the playfield and noticed that they are daisy chained. It starts with one, daisy chains to a few others but then gets bundled in and is difficult to trace.
I suspect there is a loose wire along the way. The left side works just fine.
[quoted image]
Check the J6 connector on the interconnect board in the backbox....(all yellow wires, on the right hand side).
Quoted from shirkle:Joined the club today. Yellow habitrail, diamond plate playfield, and plays great![quoted image]
Congrats!!!
Diner is one of the best system 11 games out there.
Quoted from life_boy:I meant to post this sooner but I was waiting for parts to arrive. I did retrace the wiring and realized I had been tracing lamp wires rather than GI. I did find burnt molex connectors on the relay board. The pins on the board itself actually seemed to be in fine shape—no visible damage or discoloration.
When the parts did arrive I was suddenly confused by what I was observing. The problem I’m having is this “daisy chain” way that the wiring is looping through the molex. How am I supposed to solve this? I have trifurcon connectors but it looks like these original crimped differently. Should I split off the original wire into the molex? Or did I get the wrong connectors (I have .156” trifurcon crimp terminals)? Any thoughts/advice appreciated.[quoted image][quoted image]
Looks like the good ol' J6 plug on the interconnect board.
Here's the trick I use...works like a champ...
Create "solder bridges" on the back side of the circuit board. I've done this to ALL of my system 11 pins. I've never had a failure. DEFINITELY use trifurcon terminals and get rid of that nasty IDC connector.
Solder bridge #1 & #2, #3 & #4, 5 is keyed, I think, then bridge #6 & #7, and #8 & #9....problem solved.
Replace the header pins while you're at it.
Quoted from pinballinreno:Im impressed by it.
I agree, we put 10 games on it and the scores were millions higher.
My switch misses all the time.
With this, I didnt have to spend 3 hours and pull the playfield to fix a switch.
Is there a link to where I can buy one of those switches?
Quoted from Blackbeard:Wow never heard of this stuff. Is it a Home Depot buy?
Quoted from pinballinreno:CPR did an amazing job on these!
It took 7 years of waiting, but they are perfect.
I wish they would have made more as it was a pretty short run that sold out immediately.
Maybe they will run another batch.
If CPR runs these again, they won't be the same as original screen printed version. Everything is digital now. I have a gold CPR playfield in the closet. Absolute work of art.
Quoted from KornFreak28:Would digital be better?
I can't say.
I've bought a bunch of playfields from CPR though the years, but I haven't bought any since they switched over to digital.
Quoted from Dpirhana:Correction, Dave, I spoke too soon. You need one with one threaded end, like this. This is from my Diner. I noticed you bought a CPR playfield about the same time I did, and I’m about two weeks into my first swap.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Is this the correct size?
