Just got a Diner pinball that upon power up blinks "Pinball Missing" on the display. I think I have tracked the problem to a small black micro switch but not really sure as it seems ok.
Pictured below is my trough switches.
When I meter continuity in the switches they are all silent until I activate the switch. That is all except the small black micro switch at the top. It meters active and when I press the switch it goes silent.
I clipped the diode and it meters .55 in one direction and 00 in the other.
Seems normal.
Thought maybe the diode is installed backwards but have no way to tell.
Any help or ideas about how to fix this are much appreciated.

Thanks Lloyd.
One thing down many to try I guess.

When I put game in switch test this little black switch does not register.
But it does seem ok.

Thanks mark.
Like I said this particular switch is working in reverse of that.
It beeps the entire time when open.
Then when I activate it it goes silent.
This is the opposite behavior of all the othe switches in the trough.

Quoted from pintechev:

Replace the switch.

Yes. I have one on order but it will not be here until mid week.
Just getting opinions so I do not waste more time on this then needed.

And Pintime, I was not referring to the switch on the far left that helps kick the ball into the trough.
I am zeroing in on the tiny black micro switch at the top of the photo.
Again, I really appreciate all the replies.

OK. In the interest of posting the solution for future thread readers, here is what the problem was.

Received a new micro switch in the mail.
Attached a new diode. Then connected the green ground plug back on the center lug and soldered the white wires to their lug.
Turned on the game. Put it in switch test and hit the switch. (Nothing). Damn. What the hell?
So we decide to check continuity on the wires. First up was the small green ground wire with the crimp connector on it, after all it is only a 8 inch wire that runs directly to another trough switch right next to it.
No Beep. Again, what the hell?
Turns out that somewhere hidden inside that crimp there was no connection with the wire.
We cut off the crimp connector and soldered the wire directly to the switch and the game is now playing beautifully.
Sometimes it is the craziest of things. Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.
