Hello,
Currently I am after Lord of the Rings pinball machine. I took a look and the forum says there is a limited and a normal edition. Can someone please tell me the difference and how I can take them apart?
Kind regards,

WARNING: Once you see it you will never be able to un-see it.
From memory: The LOTR LE has the following enhancements:
Extra clear coat on the playfield
Gold trim (legs, lock down bar, side rails and backglass)
LE certificate & plaque (limited to 500 units)
Shaker motor support (but shaker not included)
Side point: The LE did not come with the figurines.
There might be a few other things that I've missed.
Quoted from Lostcause:LE is quite a bit newer by about 6 years and probably HUO. Also has a mirrored back glass.
If you want to see a penis you will see one if you don’t you will not see it, just sayin’
LOL,
I have to agree here. The LE is a nice package. The brass trim goes well with this title.
The penis and the trim package which falls under 'take it or leave it' for me.
Normal is the way to go imo.

The proper term is "hair dick".

Seymour shadow is responsible if I remember correctly.

Some days I miss rgp.
To me the original is much more desirable. LE is ugly as hell, missing the figurines and higher price. No thanks.

Totally agree. Full disclosure: I still have my 2004 NIB original. When they came out with the LE, was not impressed.
Quoted from joefox22:There was also different LE Code enhancements
Really? This is news to me. Details?

these days the price really is not any higher. regular version selling for $8k now is getting nuts.
From IPDB:
Here are the factory changes that differentiate the LE version from the original version:
• The backglass is real glass (not a translite) with a mirrored gold effect.
• Extra clearcoats on playfield.
• 'Armies of Middle Earth' plastic figures were not used. Therefore, no mounting holes exist in the playfield plastics for them.
• Playfield is signed by Gary Stern and George Gomez.
• "Gold" trim. The lockdown bar, legs, hinges, and side rails are plated and polished. Gold trim around the backbox.
• Game has the option to add a Shaker Motor.
• Leg bolts and hinge bolts are brass plated.
• The speaker panel has a "500 Game Limited Edition" plate and gold painted grills.
• Certificate of Authenticity signed by Gary Stern.
This game has the option to add a Shaker Motor which had not been the case for the original LOTR game. Lonnie Ropp confirmed to us that he added the Shaker Code to the original Code and it had been 'secured' with a new PAL chip version.
If you are looking at one, the mirrored backglass and speaker panel plaque will be an obvious difference. Besides the shaker, I also thought the flippers had less problems overheating on the LE?
