As much as I would love/need to see a completed HD gameplay video ASAp we will probably have to wait until the December final reveal. I guess if there is wide spread pre order cancellation (which I don't advise) JJP will show more sooner.
Quoted from DougPiranha:I mainly went to Expo to just to see it.
So true, I came close to getting a plane ticket for me and my son primarily to see and play the hobbit pin (and I wanted to check TBL). Glad we didn't - but that is the amount of enthusiasm JJP is bringing to Pinball especially new pin players like me. I sure hope that The Hobbit has a strong finish.
The biggest problem is that given his team, a great theme, and years of development, the amazing WOZ as the low bar, JJP could have created a pin that would be a huge hit and made them a lot of money. Now I am concerned that it will even sell well
I just don't think the EXPO pin is 'the' pin they have right now to work with. It has far more surely.
There are at least 4 main areas they had to work with.
1) lance (not seen it - sure its coming)
2) smuag (interesting idea, but the area around him is lack luster)
3) popers (barrels look good, but can't see them)
4) bag end (surely a place holder - this and smaug are should be the focus areas - and they are hard to look at)
It'll get fixed I bet - if it hasn't been already
Quoted from Rarehero:Yes, I only played it a few times but...what else can I go by at this point. The first few times I played Met I was like "HOLY SHIT WOOOOO!!!"
True, but MET wasn't as far away from done is the hobbit is now (speculating). We may be saying that for the hobbit in a couple of months (maybe)
Quoted from Aurich:The VUKs are just awful looking, very industrial. Replace them with wireforms.
Agree with all your points. The VUK one seems like an easy one to correct.
Quoted from Aurich:The metal ramps in the middle are really unappealing looking. I heard they might get decals. My suggestion is if you're going to have metal ramps then do something that metal is good at. Laser cut them with some runes or designs.
This again, may not be too bad to do as well and would bring good value add as well. Perhaps have the runes say something similar to what is on the map when pointing out the key hole?
Quoted from Aurich:The book! It's just weird. If it's not a placeholder decide it is one.
Yeah...this is just not adding any real value and missed a great opportunity with a great Bag End toy. The Hobbit hole would be beautiful and I would think more like what you would expect from JJP machines.
Quoted from Rarehero:No negativity in Lebowski-land! Runaway smash hit of the show!
Yeah…well…you know it’s just like, uh, your opinion man…
Quoted from labnip:Tron Premium is the TRON LE.
Says it on it & the box it shipped in.
Sounds perfect...
Quoted from tonycip:that sounds like something the carpet pissers would say...
Obviously he's not a golfer...
True, I would like to have someone that is not biased to look at the regular version versus the super thick and say if it is worth it or not. I am leaning toward adding it, but not if it makes little difference.
Edit: The reason I an considering adding it is because the machine will be standing alone (no other pins) in my game room. So the sides will be fully visible.
Quoted from Lotr-Hobbit:Hi. I opened a NIB WOZ this weekend. It exceeded my expectations for beauty, quality, and play. I have a TH pre-ordered and fully paid for. Although there is always uncertainty in all decisions we make, I suspect TH will also ultimately be a great game. JJP' s business model does not work unless the games produced are top-notch.
Congrats! I really like the hobbit theme so I would really like to keep my pre order with the hobbit, if I am not 'feeling it' I will switch over to WOZ 75. That is a hard pin to pass up
Quoted from TaTa:I didn't pay for a modern EM. I paid for Smaug to eat my balls and sh#t them out his ass
Code will fix this. It will be solid.
