This is both the earliest known photo of Paris AND the earliest known photo of a human. Zoom into the lower-left and observe the fellow standing on the street corner apparently getting a shoe shine; there were undoubtedly scores of other people present, but he was the only one that remained still enough to be captured by the long-exposure shot. (circa 1839, 10-minute exposure daguerreotype):

“Perineum” is the medical term for “taint”.

The smallest skyscraper in the world, Wichita Falls, TX.

This is the typical kind of flim-flammery that happened in the “wild west” oil boom days (sprinkled with a dash of Spinal Tap “Stonehenge” in this case). The building was proposed by a local oil rig builder, who verbally pitched a height of 480 feet (quite impressive in 1919) to potential investors; when the blueprints were drawn however, the height was written with the dreaded “ instead of ‘, and the little 40-foot tall dollhouse of a skyscraper was the end result! (Last I knew, it had been renovated and contained a resale shop; it’s only about 10x12’ inside, and about a third of that is occupied by the staircase, so it really is mostly useless except as a curiosity.)
