Quick question... Did Twilight Zone come standard with gumballs or is that a mod?

    #2 7 years ago

    It's a mod

    .....that should have been there

    #4 7 years ago

what they said... no it is not stock from factory

    #5 7 years ago

Good to know! I didn't realize my TZ came with a mod. A buddy stated his TZ didn't have the gumballs, so I wondered if they "spilled out" once or whether they were never there.

I'm not really into mods, but I think it would look pretty bland without it... so I think I'll keep this one.

How much did they save not putting a few plastic balls in there anyway?

    #7 7 years ago

I guess they had to drop the axe somewhere. This pin is pretty full nonetheless

After the success of Addams ?

I'm sure if Pat wanted them in there, they'd be there.

You really think an empty gumball machine was the designers choice? You crazy!

The one on the translite has pinballs in the gumball machine.

You are of course absolutely correct.

The next time my dog does a #2 I'll be sure and save it and mail the respect deserved.

The Twilight Zone flyer shows a fairly empty gumball machine... Not sure what the black arrow-looking thing is on the regular pinball in there.

Just a reflection, probably of the photography equipment.

I think it's just a reflection. That flyer always bothers me because of the location of the bumper caps (they don't match the awarded skill shot that way lol). Another interesting thing about this image is that the yellow inlane guide has yellow post sleeves instead of the double rubber rings that ended up shipping on the game. I switched mine to Cliffy yellow post sleeves, and it looks a lot better imo.

Not real big on MOD's myself... but the gumballs in the machine and the PIANO are absolute MUSTS on a TZ.

^^Lordnorth you couldn't have put it any better,I concur with your thinking.

Was looking at the backglass last night and noticed the gumball machine really is full of pinballs. I wonder why no one has put pinballs in there rather than multi-color gumballs? Even if they needed to be smaller than normal, that might be cool.

Ball bearings come in any size.

Worth a shot. And won't attract ants or anything like real gumballs.

I've seen a picture of one somewhere that had either ball bearings or pachinko balls. I wouldn't fill it up all the way due to the weight.

The steel balls were the gum balls....

Bought my Twilight Zone with the gumballs already installed.

It's the only mod I'll keep on my pins, prefer to spend my money restoring them to original. Don't like the look of bolt on parts that don't belong, some people are out of control with that stuff.

It's like they say; "if you can't eat it or have sex with it, put it in your Twilight Zone"
