So I am working on bringing a Fish Tales back from a world of filth and all is going great. However, my game was on a route and I would love to get the wear off the playfield diamond plate. It is not bad at all (really almost no insert wear and just a couple small bad spots where the balls drop down out of the ramps at the inlanes - Cliffys bought already!) but I just want to see if I can bring the luster back to it. I found a lot of old info on here about the Treasure Cove Playfield Cleaning & Polishing Kit, but I called Treasure Cove because all the cleaning stuff is listed as out of stock. Looks and sounds like these kits are not being made anymore, which is a drag because I was excited to give it a try.
Does anyone have a suggestion on an alternative to these for a Diamond Plate playfield that is NOT Novus 2? Having read a lot about these rubbing/buffing kits, it sounds a lot better than Novus 2. Yes, I completely understand that this will be a One Time Project regardless of what I use and that afterward that I will keep the playfield luster up with regular cleaning and Blitz wax, just like my other 3 machines. I have read that 3M makes good stuff, but do I need to buy 1 product or use a couple different ones in sequence?
Alternately, did anyone out there purchase a Treasure Cove kit and not use it who would be willing to sell it to me?
Thanks in advance for all advice.
Cheers,
