Quoted from imagamejunky:

Anyone here have any inside info on the next software update timeframe?
How about the printed manuals?
Junky

If I had to guess, they'll preview it at Expo, release a little while later after feedback.

Quoted from epotech:

OK, hate to do this really but...
JJP WHERE IS THE CODE? Last update was going on a year ago, my phone people still aren't animated.

I think Ted's been working on it since he finished the huge Hobbit update.

That was worth it. I expect the DI one will be too.

Quoted from Allibaster:

FWIW, the coil sleeves on the flippers of JJP games don’t seem to last as long as other manufacturers, I’ve found. Swapping out coil sleeves on my WOZ and DI made a big improvement. Depends on how many games on on your pin.

Not that I think I have a problem, but what coil sleeves do people rate most highly? Pinball Life WMS ones?

I'd suggest playing DI after the code drop that's scheduled, and PotC too - which is almost code complete already, save for final wizard mode (already has 5) and polish.

They're very different to each other, and very different to your Houdini. Question of which you and your family enjoy more. Maybe you'll want both.

Don't rely on others to make the decision for you.

For a good illustration of one of the many ways you can blow PotC up, watch Joe (one of the programmers) play his last ball from 33.30 in this video:

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

Help me understand how Keith’s games are different from a mode-driven game? I am familiar with TH, WOZ, LOTR, etc but these all seem like mode based games to me

I think it'd be more fun if it took a major movement.

Quoted from mulder2010:

I could swear that I had heard callouts from older games (maybe Funhouse) on DI, when I played it on location, but never since I've owned it. If this is something in the game, would be cool to know how that occurs.

You were probably near a Funhouse

Main problem is that with super bands you just can't rely on dead flips. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce at all or does, but barely, and drains. That very, very rarely happens with Titan Silicone or fresh rubber.

I think kevinbuffalo is on the Google Group. Maybe he'll stream some of the new code.

#5973 44 days ago
Quoted from estrader:

Why not just release the code as beta? Why does it have to be difficult to email people and join groups?

Because more people would then install it and potentially brick their machines.

#6008 43 days ago
Quoted from estrader:

I emailed tech support about an hour ago and nada.
I still fail to see how releasing this in beta to everyone who wants it and understands the risk is better/easier for jjp. Now they have people emailing tech support and Jen.

Because it's opt in.

I'm curious what the JJP team's position is on backhanding the left ramp.

Can one of them clarify, and if not, ask the question to Pat?

Quoted from delt31:

This new code is amazing. I can confidently say this is the best pinball machine out there and let's just say I go through a lot.
The game is so balanced and just feels complete. New animations are great and even the mb intro was fixed so the balls aren't released before the guy says dialed in. Just a really polished code update. Great job

I think there's a case to be made for all 4 of JJP's machines as the very best out there, even the initially maligned Hobbit, after recent code updates.

They're all incredible, even if I still wish JJPotC was an original pirate theme.
