Quoted from fnosm:

Here are a couple of ideas:
Make sure that the plunger isn't being blocked the auto plunger. The easiest solution for me when this happens is to rotate my plunger a bit and try again.
Right after DI came out there were 'sagging' issues reported and discussed here on Pinside. This may be part of your problem. If you track down those posts you can see how people attempted to resolve it.
One last thing is to see if you have a long or short barrel spring outside of the cabinet on your plunger. If you have a long one you can replace it with a short one(3/4") and that might get you over the hump.
Please let us know what you figure out.

are your playfield hooks bent? Mine were bent and it caused the plunger to hit the top of the ball.

Pinside shows that 1600 copies of Dialed In were built. Is that correct?

(sorry if this has already been brought up)

Quoted from ShaffeTrain:

Just picked up a new to me DI LE and am having a couple of USB issues.
1.) Bluetooth Dongle Not Found Error
-Dongle lights up but no detect-o by the PC. Do we have a list of compatible BT dongles?
2.) Update USB Extension in the coin door not working
-Swapped my own USB 3.0 extension cable and my USB stick then worked (also 3.0). Not sure if the machine was picky about my USB stick or if the cable was bad. Either way seems to be fixed with a cable swap.
Thanks!

To piggy back on this... I am also getting the dongle error.

Also, I am getting an EOS error on all 3 flippers. However, all of the flippers seem to be operating correctly. Any ideas?

Quoted from LTG:

Broken wire at one of them killing all of them. Or a broken common wire on the way to the I/O board.
LTG : )

That makes sense

Ok.. I'll check both. I assume I need to get into the backbox. Should be interesting. I used an 8G, but I'm going to pick a new one. Give it another try today. Thanks for the help.

No, you update the code by using the USB that has the Bluetooth dongle. It can be accessed through the coin door.

Ok, an answer may have already been posted (but I looked for it, I swear!) but is there a solution for the SDTM caused by the magnet in the Quantum Theatre? I know the code updates cause the QED guy to move and help deflect the ball, but other times he doesn't move and *poof* it drains. Are people knocking their game off level, or is there another option? We love the game, but man, when that happens it is probably one of the most frustrating drains of all time.

Quoted from TOLLS:

Listen to Lloyd, you gotta get the magnet flinging the ball backwards. If that’s not working your game isn’t playing as intended and kinda rubbish. This makes the game, if you don’t get it working you will probably end up selling one of the greatest games ever.

Yeah, I will definitely give it a try. It doesn’t happen everytime, and not even all that often, but it always seems to happen during a good game.

We love DI, but this is our biggest source of frustration.

Page B-18 in the manual. Theater Magnet Test - play with the timing in there.

Thanks Lloyd! I’ll give it a try!

Quoted from Vernisious:

I forget the exact spot in the settings. But find the theater magnet and adjust to -100. I know others basically said the same thing but I've walked a streamer through the fix and he didn't understand what to change and nobody said the numbers. - 100 might not be your sweet spot but that was the value that helped me. Usually the sdtm drain happens when it attempts to throw the ball back and just drops it instead. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll screenshot it.

Mine happens on things like special deliveries - it catches it, drops it straight down, and the QED guy doesn't move so I get a SDTM. I don't have many issues with it misfiring back... maybe 1 out of every 25 games or so (if that often). However, the straight drops happens probably once every 3 games (or so).

Thanks for the tip! It saved me two SDTM drains today!

I still can't get over how this is the least expensive JJP game. Crazy.

Quoted from StachedMan:

Observation part 2
On the other hand the processor on the motherboard is a biz chip good for MS word or Excel stuff … NOT a serious gaming CPU … It a 2.8 ghz celeron (2 core 2 meg cache) … this game code need a 4 core i5 or i7 at 3.0 + ghz to really run right (the MSI H81 mobo supports them) … im convinced my phone glitches are not from the phone but a way underachiever of an economy $40 cpu … (btw ive been building modding and hotrodding gaming computers since the early 90’s)
Any Dialed In pinhead computer geek like me on here with any insights ?

You think it needs an i5 chip? I am surprised that it has something as beefy as 2.8Ghz 2 core. I am not doubting you, but the game is mainly just playing videos... it's not doing any hardcore rendering in realtime.

#12133 2 years ago
Quoted from StachedMan:

Processor rant number 2
Look on Intels web site and it says that celerons are ‘entry level’ chips ‘ not meant for serious gaming stuff … entry level either intel or amd just not up to multiple simultaneous gaming inputs computations and running multiple
Outputs …

I still don’t think it is an issue. The minimum spec for fortnite is i3 - and it is rendering a 3D first person with 99 other active players. It probably doesn’t play great on an i3, but by the time you get to an i5 most people won’t experience many problems.

Quoted from sirlonzelot:

my le has some error messages mybe someone can help
first: bluetoth dongle not found. I tried the one from gnr and did a new full install, both dont work. Aslo tried to connect it directly at the pc. no luck
second: all eos switched didnt work. I check j601 at the i/o board and its fine. I tested the switches with a multimeter at the j601 connector and they work.
any idea ?

I have the exact same issues.
