Joined the club yesterday! Have a few questions:

1. Are there supposed to be 2 screws in the left orbit? (See pic)
2. Game has a lot of small scratches between the slings. I assume not fixable, but should be rewaxed? I replaced the balls - I assume they cause it. (See pic)
3. Is the consensus that cliffys are a billion times better than factory for the phone scoop? I can make the shot but it rejects quite a bit.
4. Sometimes my skill shot doesn't quite make it to the switch. Should I just bend it a bit?
5. NOW. YOU'RE. DIALED. IN!

Still looking for some help on most of these - much appreciated!

Also, is the left orbit supposed to go all the way around and feed the upper right flipper? Mine never makes it all the way around and drops into the pops. Any tweaks I can do to improve that? Thanks!!!

Quoted from the_zap:

Yes.

Why not try a rewax? Won't hurt. Also replacing balls regularly won't hurt.

That's not uncommon. I feel as if the backhand is a more reliable shot, but some games I can't make that phone scoop. There's people who have moved the whole scoop assembly a few millimeters further back, but I personally would not go that far. Most of the time, I make the shot eventually. so I can not be bothered to much by it.

You mean it rests in the "rocket kicker" but the switch is not actuated? See if you can adjust the switch using the mounting screws (i don't know how the switch is mounted tbh.) before you try bending it.

Yes.

Yes, it is designed to go all the way around, but a dirty / to-be-waxed playfield, weak flippers (flipper power can be set in software) or wrong playfield angle can lead to the ball dropping into the pops more often than usual. Also make sure there's nothing blocking the ball. (Dislodged plastic or rubber or something)

Thank you! For #1 - which screws are they? I scoured the manual and could not find the assembly diagram for this particular part. It seems there is no image for it.

Would I be stupid to remove the jjp cliffies on the 2 scoops and replace them with mylar? I just think the game would play way better.

Can someone tell me what the intended function of the drones are? Whenever the magnet "activates" it just seems to throw the ball in a random direction. I understand the theatre magnet is either a) drop it back down, or b) suck in and around to the flipper, but the drones are a mystery to me. Thanks for your help

Anyone completely remove their cliffies on Sim/phone scoop? Any damage as a result?

Quoted from 27dnast:

If it's easy, I'm pulling mine. Fun is more important than some wear

I removed my phone scoop cliffy and it took about 2 hours. That was 90% removing the posts because I didn't have the right tools. With the right tools, a 30 min job. I am going to do the sim slot as well, and Lloyd has mentioned before its super easy. You remove a couple of screws and then you can swivel the ramp onto the electric guy's head. You don't need to fully remove it. I put a piece of mylar over and the difference in making the phone shot is noticeable. This is clearly the way the game was meant to be played in design.
