Joined the club over the weekend. What a great game. Always enjoyed it at shows. Not so much st first, but it grew on me. But now, at home, it is so much fun.
Is the phone scoop easier to hit without cliffy? I get a ton of rejects. Surprisingly I hit the sim shot pretty reliably. Lucky, I guess.
Debating the pop building, but I like watching the ball going around that turn. Will likely be getting the Bob sign upgrade so it faces me. Then mirror or art blades and I'm done. This game has so much, really doesn't need much more.
Does anyone know the type of switch (part number) is used for the ramp? I need to replace one. The manual gives a part number, but none listed on JJP site. Figured I could get one from Pinball life or Marco if I knew the William's equivalent.
Been in the club for a few months. Was a little nervous the first couple of weeks that the theme and callouts would wear on me. But have to say, completely the opposite. I find myself yelling, "crazy!" all the time now. It is just such an enjoyable game. And when you really get things going it sure opens up. Very happy with this one.
Over the weekend replaced the warped (bending upward) factory cliffy with a Mantis protector for the phone scoop. Wow! What a difference. Was a pain to place. Had to remove the old cliffy, the scoop mech and the subway going into the scoop. But it was worth it. So many fewer rejects.
Quoted from Indusguys:I started with Cliffy protector, too many rejects, went with the mantis protector (what a major pain to install), eventually I removed the mantis protector as well and now the game plays flawless and both me and my wife have put up multiple high scores. I don’t care how beautiful the game looks, if it doesn’t play well it’s useless to me. Interestingly enough I have a cliffy on my Sim card scoop and I hit it almost every time with the upper flipper never get any rejects. The game place so much better with a naked phone scoop I just can’t believe it!
You Bastard! Just kidding...but the thought of dismantling everything to remove the Mantis protector alone will probably never allow me to see what life is like with a naked phone scoop.
Quoted from delt31:Any trick on the SIM shot?
My Dad has had a Monopoly for years. The Utility shot is the exact same shot as the Sim card shot. So comes natural to me. I don't get any SIM rejects with factory cliffy. My phone scoop cliffy was bent upward and would cause issues. The foam thing is a good trick, worked wonders on my AMH and TNA when I had those.
Quoted from CUJO:I have a Mantis protector I have been procrastinating to put in. I don't have any wear but curious if it effects ball dropping into the scoop?
I swapped the cliffy for a Mantis and couldn't be happier. Still get occasional rejects, but think those would be rejected anyway. A really hard shot has to be more accurate than a soft shot. Just like his scoop on TAF, TZ, Monopoly or so many others.
I've owned this game for a few months now and gotta say, this may be the greatest designed game ever. Not saying it is the best game of all time, but from a design/layout standpoint, this game is just the smoothest shooter I've ever played. I just completely enjoy hitting the shots on this game. And when you hit the ramps, the ball just seems to want to make the journey effortlessly. It's a heck of a lot of fun. It's tough, but rewarding. It's got some humor and the light show is great. I have a love/hate relationship with the magnets, but that gives it some serious character. But just wanted to comment on the shots. Anyhow, for all you owners, I'm sure you all know this already. Just happy to have this game in my collection.
