Does the DILE still come with the comic book?

Received mine 2 days ago. I had never played it and was one of the rule of law I said I would never do. I was actually worried if I would like this type of game play. Seriously, everything positive about this game that's has been written is spot on. Really a fun pin. One of the best I've ever played.
I also have the trap door issue. Just picked up some silicone grease.
Magnet in theater was set at -60 and did not fling ball back. Set it to -95 and all good.
One question, do the drone blades spin? Haven't seen that. If so what do you do to make them work.
I have to add my voice to DI. Out of all my pins, and some of them are keepers, DI is the best. A great combination of great rules, smooth shooting (except for sim hole), gizmos on the playfield, great lighting, attainable wizard mode, different types of modes, different mb's, sounds and just overall diversification of game play. This is a fun pin that doesn't seem to get old.
Quoted from Nokoro:I put in a ticket last Wednesday and never got a response. I’ll call tomorrow. Thanks.
I ordered the same day as you and have not received any confirmation. Did you call today and was it necessary to call?
All I know is this is one of the best games ever made with a great layout which compliments a great set of rules. You can play this game a number of different ways for scoring. You can achieve multiple multi balls, play a different set of modes on each game, see up to 3 wizard modes which one is very achievable.
A real fun game to play each time. With all the games out there, this one is a homerun.
If the issue is indeed the different speed in the main board, couldn’t JJP programers do one code each for the two different boards? Or is it a problem that the earlier board is just too slow to handle more code? Doubt that but it’s unfair to have buy a higher speed processor. Wish JJP would make a statement on this issue.
Quoted from pinghetto:3 voice mails left at JJP tech support and a service ticket created for the video lag on my Dialed In. Not even an acknowledgement that they got a message. Even if they don't have an answer right now... at least tell me. I just want to know if I should swap out my CPU parts, or if code is going to be corrected. If I need to swap out components, what do they recommend.
I have been a full on JJP supporter since the beginning and own four of their five games. Seeing their lack of customer service for me with this issue and their radio silence to the people with playfield issues... I'm definitely going to proceed with caution in the future.
Very very disappointed.

I agree with this. It’s not acceptable for DI owners with a Celeron processor to be expected to change it out. While 1.57 is a fully functional game, the fact that there is further code that is not accessible without issues is a kick in your backside. Perhaps JJP is not allowed to comment on this issue, but a simple statement saying we are working on a possible solution would be enough for me. Maybe it can’t be worked out but at least KNOWING they are trying would be most welcome. It does give one pause to decide to buy early produced games, but if this is addressed properly, I would have some comfort buying an early game albeit all the other issues now coming to light.
Thanks for that. Well aware of Ted’s expertise. Think they should let DI owners know this in a more public way. The issue is already well known so radio silence to me makes it worse.
Quoted from Fpacak:DI is fully functional on both cpu's. Not all celerons have video issues. No video issues alter gameplay. They may annoy you, but the game play is not impacted in the slightest. Variable kick outs may not be cpu based even. And it also does not stop the game from playing either.
Agree. The game is fully functional. Not the point and btw, even with the lag the game is one of the best out there. Maybe there are celerons out there without issues, mine is not one of them. If this is hardware based that can be fixed with software, I simply would like to know it’s being addressed. I’d rather not have lag issues, etc if it can be fixed. I’m still going to enjoy the game to it’s fullest.
@silverwings, so you like this demagnetizer? Have you used balls that have been demagnetized back in the game and if so, did they last long?
Have you demagnetized the same ball more than once?
Are you able to restore your settings after a full update? I was on v1.56 and did a backup. Folder on USB stick shows backup with 1.94mb. I successfully loaded 1.60 and then 1.73. When I put the usb stick in with the backup folder and go to backup restore, hit enter, nothing happens. So can this be done? Looking for high scores, games played, etc.
Quoted from Pinkitten:I’m very stoked to be re-joining club Dialed In! I bought a DILE in early 2018 and was too eager to try other games. So it was sold to fund others. I just ordered one of the dwindling final run DILEs! Should be collecting SIM cards (or trying) this weekend! Can’t wait. After 2 years and trying many pins, I’m convinced DI is one of the very best ever made. It’s a keeper this time.
It’s the complete package.
Quoted from dr_light:I would love to. I'm the one that coded it in the first place (one of the first things I did here at JJP), and I've always wanted to give it some more love. It's just a matter of finding the time to do so.
Has anyone changed their battery with the game on? I gave up after an hour even with help. I searched for any news, it’s been a while that anyone has posted and DI owners wound up doing with the game off. What a terrible place that battery was put.
Quoted from Nokoro:I did. Very tight but doable. How specifically did you get hung up?
The battery is in so tight. I’ve tried various makeshift “tools” out of wood and plastic to just get a bit on the side or underneath. Can’t budge it. The board that sticks out really prevents you for any wiggle room.
How did you do it?
It would have been smart for JJP to put a “string” under the battery so you could pull it out. I will do that if I ever get it out. Frustrated.
Quoted from Nokoro:Did you use the masking tape method described in the manual? If not, you really need to. There’s a tab at the bottom of the battery holder. Once you depress it enough, the battery pops right out and will stay on the masking tape. No prying required. It is VERY tight, but if you do it that way, you can get it.
Thks for this Nokoro however I do not have a tab at the bottom of the battery but a tab on top. That tab has to be pulled out so the battery could move out. But, that tab has very little flex and no way to pick that out a bit and push/pick/pull the battery out. Yes I did put masking tape per the manual. You would need to get tape that could pull up 250lbs per sq in. The tape is obviously good so that battery doesn’t fall and cause a short.
Quoted from WizardsCastle:Do we have to change batteries??
Yes you should. If your battery dies out, you will lose all your settings, high scores etc. But also you will need to restart your game by going into the bios and using a keyboard. I dont know the whole process and but others know how to do. I wanted to avoid that. I actually just changed my battery this past weekend. I tried once before and it was a bitch to get out becasue of the location and the small space to work in. I quit trying but knew i needed to as my game is over 5yrs old. The coin cell batteries last a long time but didnt want to take any more chances. My battery was very tight in the holder. There is a tab on the top of the coin cell holder. You have to push that up and pull the battery without dropping (game on) so as to avoid a short. Manipulating a piece of tape on the battery and something to push the tab up will eventually work. I also put a small piece of cloth around the bottom of the coin holder just in case it fell and hopefully not hit any of the circuit board. Anyone who says this is a piece of cake is very lucky to not have battery in so tight, .
