Quoted from Concretehardt:

Can someone bring me up to speed on how to find the adjustment in the menu for the theatre magnet? also

Tests - Devices - Theater. I set mine at -90

Negative 90, right?

Yes, -90

Sorry.

Quoted from delt31:

can someone tell me what bubble settle they are using for level?

That can vary from game to game. Those cheap levels are close to useless.

LTG : )

#534 6 years ago

If all is good mechanically with the flipper assembly, I'd try swapping the left and right flipper button leaf blade switches and see if problem moves.

LTG : )

#536 6 years ago
Quoted from Pinballpal:

Is a lot of these games exhibiting this problem?

Maybe two that I know of. Usually it's loose coil stop screws.

Quoted from PtownPin:

Has anyone seen this trap door error?

Trap door stuck up ?

Two thoughts come to mind. See the yellow circle pointing out the latch that hooks or releases the trap door ? Avery thin bit of grease on top of the latch. Then the "C" clip above it, is the end of an axle. A little grease or light oil along the top of it where the moving parts are riding the axle. Then work the mech up and down a few times and you should be good to go.

If you need more. Grab the coil bracket part and give it a gentle tug towards the front of the machine.

don’t see anything to plug into it. No stray wire or unconnected connector.

Look around the bottom of the cabinet, probably fell down.

LTG : )

#867 6 years ago
Quoted from Grateful_Pin:

That’s what I assumed possibly but still don’t see it

Stuck in the neck going down from backbox to bottom ? Between head and cabinet, crushed ?

Or open a ticket on it. Maybe it got lost ?

Quoted from Grateful_Pin:

where it originates from.

Probably motherboard.

Quoted from aejsm:

My trapdoor won't stay up.

Please look at the picture on post 854. Something is wrong with your latch, the part circled.

Easy to look at and figure out. Relay pulls down to release, spring holds up to latch. Maybe the latch part came loose ?

LTG : )

Quoted from romulusx:

but what is the best setting for the theatre magnet?

Can vary from game to game. Many like -80 or -90

LTG : )

#961 6 years ago
Quoted from PtownPin:

any other suggestions?

A thin film of grease across the top of the latch where you have metal to metal. Grab the coil bracket and give a gentle tug towards the front of the game.

Quoted from PtownPin:

How do you know its set correctly?

No set in stone law about it. Set it where YOU like it.

#1196 6 years ago
Quoted from flashinstinct:

BAll 6 jam is hoswing green in the meny.

There's your problem. 06 shouldn't be green. Game thinks a ball is there and kicks.

06 should be the Inactive Opto color.

LTG : )

#1198 6 years ago
Quoted from flashinstinct:

How do we fix that?

Open a ticket at jerseyjackpinball.com under Support.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer, my suspicion is the 06 transmitter or receiver failed.

LTG : )

#1201 6 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Might just be a broken wire, though. I'd visually inspect and wiggle connectors for that while in switch mode to see if it toggles.

This. Check them all the way to the board in the head. Look for loose wire, wire sticking out of a connector a little. etc.

LTG : )

#1294 6 years ago
Quoted from brucipher:

I think this update will just be a delta update

It's a full install.

Quoted from flashinstinct:

Can someone explain the difference between the delta install and the full?

Deltas are usually smaller and don't require as much. Full installs redo things in the operating system that the deltas can't do.

Instructions for both are on the jerseyjackpinball.com website under Support.

LTG : )

#1318 6 years ago

1.50 is a full install.

Viewing update :

"note that the full update sometimes appears on one of the smaller screens (Theater or Phone) instead of the main screen. This is because the displays don't always initialize in the same order.

While it looks pretty weird, the update will complete successfully and the game boots up just fine when power cycled after the update.

--Ted"

On my game it was in the theater and backwards because of the mirror. It worked. Back up your settings and reinstall them after the update.

LTG : )

#1342 6 years ago
Quoted from Pinballpal:

What are all the things I should do to trouble shoot this thanks in advance.

DI flippers - should be strong. I'd start with the basics. Plungers move freely ? Coil stops on tight ? A tiny bit of up and down play on the flipper so the pawl below the playfield isn't binding on the nylon bushing the flipper shaft rides in, too much play and the plunger doesn't move in a straight line.

Then I'd follow wiring. From flipper to backbox. Any connector along the way, reseat and push in tight.

LTG : )

#1368 6 years ago
Quoted from Cserold:

Anybody know of a fix?

Adjustable below the playfield. Loosen bolt, turn threaded thing up or down as needed, retighten bolt.

LTG : )

#1389 6 years ago
Quoted from Damien:

Does anyone have a solution for this,

Below the playfield is a rod that goes up and down, hooked to the arm. An offset cam on a motor pushes it up, and releases it back down with the help of a spring around the rod.

There is a threaded part in the rod that looks like a little leg leveler with a nut that rubs on the top of the cam. You can loosen the nut, and turn the leg leveler looking thing up or down, to adjust the diverter as needed.

I'd check that this moves up and down freely, and the leg leveler looking thing hasn't come loose and fallen off. If so, reassemble and find the spring and put it there too.

LTG : )

#1431 6 years ago
Quoted from KingPinGames:

first thing is to check to see if the optos are plugged in.

Quoted from flashinstinct:

Anyone ever get the switch 13 theatre open switch? Seems like the optos failed but not sure.

First thing is check if the optos are still stuck in the wall they are snapped into, on either side of the lane the ball goes through under the theater.

Quoted from mtp78:

Just wondered if a permanet fix is posted. Some people say to lube linkage then i saw vid about bending a tab

I suspect this can show up from shipping. A little grease on the shaft above the yellow circle in this picture, work it up and down a few times. and the bracket holding the blue coil in the picture, give it one gentle tug to the right in this picture ( in the game, towards the front of the playfield )

Think my DI is having major issues.

If those switches aren't stuck closed. Please go to jerseyjackpinball.com and under support open a ticket. Something appears wrong, maybe I/O board.

LTG : )

#1833 6 years ago
Quoted from Bigbossfan:

Not sure what you mean by stuck closed. When I went into the switch test, they didn't register.

In Tests - Switches - Matrixed, are they showing closed ? If so, can you pull on them and show a change to open ? Most of those look like leaf blade switches that could need adjusting.

If they are physically closed, they won't register. If they aren't physically closed at each switch, then something bad happened elsewhere.

Don't they go right to the board in the head on Dialed In ?

LTG : )

#1868 6 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

So do a full 1.50 install and then 1.52? My dialed in wont even boot now

Go to jerseyjackpinball.com Please read the directions to do a full install of 1.50 and then delta 1.52 . Putting on memory stick and into a game is different for both.

When you do the full install. There are three screens in Dialed In. Backbox, cellphone, and theater. First one to turn on will show the progress. If it's in the theater, it will be small, and inverted. Harder to read when it's finished.

If you did the 1.50 right and bricked the game. Try a fresh download or different memory stick.

Quoted from Pale_Purple:

JJP mentions in their instructions unetboot and the drive won't even come up in the drop down menu.

You doing a full install ( 1.50 ) ?

Follow the full install instructions. Download unetbootin, open it, use that to put the 1.50 on a memory stick. Turn game off. Plug memory stick into the USB cable by the cash box. Turn game on. Progress may appear on the backbox screen, cellphone screen, or in the theater. In the theater is small, hard to see, and inverted. When done. Turn game off. Remove memory stick. Turn game back on.

http://159.203.76.48/general/install-full/

Then do 1.52 delta update. Read instructions for delta update.

http://159.203.76.48/general/install-delta/

Quoted from Pale_Purple:

JJP mentions in their instructions unetboot and the drive won't even come up in the drop down menu.

It's in step 1. of full install. Pick for windows or mac of it's website.

If 1.50 is in your game. Just do the delta 1.52, don't mess with unetbootin.

Quoted from PinMonk:

and brittle as if it had a ton of power run through it

Does it ? Put a meter on it and see if you have a weird short somewhere. One probe on spring one probe on ground.

I've never heard of a spring problem like that.

Next time, move a spring from one of your lower flippers up there and put the new spring on the lower, to see if you ran into a bad batch of springs.

LTG : )

#1956 6 years ago
Quoted from Oldgoat:

Upper flipper is erratic. I'd say 20% of the time does not work at all. Press the button, nada.

Don't you hate that ? I hate that. I hate when it happens. Here's what you do. Power off. Open the game up and lift the playfield and lean back. See the right flipper button area ? See the leaf blade switches ? See there are two sets. One for lower flipper and one for upper ? The one closest to the flipper button is for the lower. The one farthest from the flipper button is for the upper. The one for the upper. Please clean it, and adjust it so when you push the flipper button in, it closes it. It would like some adjusting to be 100%.

LTG : )

#1960 6 years ago
Quoted from Oldgoat:

Now if you can figure out my lock down bar issue, I'd be a truly happy camper. I've spent at least 30 minutes adjusting the screws, validated the glass fits in the back channel fully but no success.

Glass off, playfield up and leaned back. Put lockdown bar on. Look in there with a flashlight and see if lever/screws need to go up or down. Adjust and put together and check.

Worst case scenario, loosen lockdown screws holding to cabinet. Adjust receiver and tighten again, or remove lockdown bar receiver, put on lockdown bar, and make new holes and refasten receiver.

Is the switch #13 Theatre Center Shot the switch I want? Can you roll a ball by the optics with coin door open

Power on, coin door open. Go into Tests - Switches - Matrixed. A ball or your finger, roll it by the opto set in the lane walls with under the theater.

Not working ? Turn game off. Remove two screws holding the big clear plastic piece over the pop bumpers. Then remove the screw and nuts holding the theater down, and set the theater to the rear.

Look at the optos, one on each wall. Did one come out ? Snap it back in. I'd put a dab of hot glue on it. Reassemble. You are good to go.

Quoted from moonduckie78:

This just a leaf switch under the playfield?

Yes, by the offending pop bumper. The long leaf with the spoon should just be resting on the plastic rod coming down from the pop bumper skirt, not pushing it. The lower leaf blade should be far enough away so vibration doesn't set it off, yet the slightest ball hit does.

A little tweaking and you'll get it dialed in.

I also have a left, right, and upper EOS stuck open error.

Loosen the nut holding the pawl to the flipper shaft, turn flipper to position, retighten HARDER.

One cannot use e.g. Williams springs here instead?

Since Williams no longer exists, what is being used is copies of Williams springs.

I don't believe the spring is the issue. On flippers and drop targets, the hole the spring hooks into seems sharper and scores the spring and it snaps off at that point.

Soon the spring smooths the hole over and it doesn't happen again.

I remember seeing one of these JJP's had some wires swapped on the connections

You can try turning the connector 180 degrees and plug back on. Be sure it is plugged into the board in the backbox too.

Quoted from KingBW:

I have no idea how this goes back together or what it is for.

High power interlock switch. It's done.

To get by until you get a new switch, you can short the two blue wires to each other. And short the red wires to each other. Be careful because then high power will always be on when the game is turned one.

Anyone find any issues with the manual?

Just got mine today, and there is a printing issue throughout the entire book. I used to work in printing, so I'm maybe picky, but it's pretty bad. It really shows in the last part of the book with the pictures and artwork. Bummed!

This shows the dirty rollers/low ink issue that runs over every other page of the book.

Please check with them. Maybe you got a bad one.

Just got my dialed in and the shooter rod hits the auto launcher what should I be adjusting to fix this?

Inside the cabinet three screws hold the shooter rod housing. Loosen, move it, retighten the screws.

This is adjustable to line up ball hits better.

Had both flipper springs snap, what size/length are they? Going to a hardware store later today.

Don't know if you'll source them locally. I've posted a picture to help with size, they are a soft spring.

If your loop of the spring broke off, you can bend a loop over and keep the game going. Then get spares.

#5975 5 years ago
Quoted from estrader:

Why does it have to be difficult to email people and join groups?

Sometimes it stays in house and not to the forum.

In case something is wrong, they don't need a lot of people upset with what happened to their game and now they have to reload the operating system and previous updates.

Every time a delta update goes out, people post with issues installing it. Just think how this would increase if they had to reload the operating system and then screw that up.

They want to keep problems to a minimum and get good working updates for everyone.

Any JJP owner should join the WOZ forum anyway, to keep up with what's happening. Player feedback. And helpful hints.

LTG : )

#6170 5 years ago
Quoted from Nokoro:

What's the best way to adjust them or bend them back?

They should be flat going up and down where the playfield/apron is. Best remove them to bend them if need be. Then they are easier to work on.

Quoted from Cobray:

Has anyone had this problem and how did you solve it?

Assuming you are using the backbox key.

Remove the speaker panel. Trim the 5 or 6 wood supports right behind the top area of the backglass. There is a notch at the bottom of each needs to go in deeper.

End of problem.

LTG : )

Look the same, except when you look inside, one side is empty and the other side is full. Rotate them so they plug into each other full part into empty part and empty part into full part.

Or if it won't plug in one way, turn 180 degrees and try again. Should slip right in.

ball trough sometimes struggles to eject the ball into the shooter lane.

In Settings - Coils - have you played with the ball trough VUK ?

If when the ball comes up it hits the metal flap/diverter at the top of the ball trough and drops back down instead of moseying over to the shooter lane, then try this - http://www.pinplay.com/5/adjusting_the_ball_trough_on_woz.html

Quoted from ClarkKent:

I think the LED is defect?

If you can, try it in a different spot, then you'd know connector or LED.

Quoted from ClarkKent:

Can the lockbar receiver be adjusted in some way (up, down, left, right)? My playfield is a little bit too much to the left, so there is a gap on the right side and no gap on the left side (would be hard to install mirror blades or something).

I'd check the playfield hangers first. They should be striaght up and down with the apron. If so then loosen the screws holding the hangers under the playfield and shove them over and retighten. You'll get more movement that way than loosening the lockdown bar receiver.

LTG : )

#6733 5 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

what am I supposed to do to make the trapdoor not hit the wireframe?

Assuming the metal above isn't bent down a little.

I would either bend the bracket forward a little in the direction of the arrow pointing up. Or the arrow pointing to the bottom of the bracket, I'd remove the coil, and drop an 8/32nds locknut in the bottom of the coil, limiting the amount of travel the plunger travels.

#6735 5 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

Would doing that have no repercussions on the coil or plunger over time?

No more than the plunger hitting the coil stop over time.

LTG : )

#6737 5 years ago

See arrow. It is pointing to another kind of coil stop.

Quoted from Gogdog:

just want to make sure about the nut in the coil option. You said locknut, but I think you meant maybe a normal nut? A locknut with the plastic in the middle might eventually break down because of the pounding and get plastic bits in the coil sleeve.

Use any nut you want. Not rocket science. Find one the size that limits travel and the trap door still opens enough to do it's job.

Locknuts have the plastic a little lower than the metal on the nut. I doubt you'll ever get any plastic bits in the bottom of the coil. And if you do, so what ? Won't hurt anything and in years to come when the plastic link on the plunger breaks, clean the coil out when you fix that.

I just like locknuts because they are easy to drop in, and reassemble the coil and bracket thingy while keeping them on the bottom. But use what ever you like.

Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

Is there a fix for the ball dropping into the cabinet when making the BOB shot into the trap door?

Check if the blue steel flap is broken off of the trap door. If it is, fix that first.

Next up, lift the playfield up and hold with your right hand. Grab the trap door assembly with your left and give it a sharp tug or two towards the front of the game.

That should fix you up.
