Is their a way to adjust the bass or treble on Dialed In. That high note that b3 organ puts out is making my ears bleed .

#2802 6 years ago

Joined the club today!

How do I scratch the lottery ticket? I waved at the screen but don't think I'm doing it right.

Quoted from Deez:

I waved at the screen but don't think I'm doing it right.

The camera is in the middle bottom of the backglass, it needs to "see" your hand.

I had a rather portly customer playing my Dialed In, and his tummy leaned over the lockdown bar. When the scratch off ticket came up, it all erased immediately.

I just move my head left and right quickly for a few seconds. Works every time.

Finally got rid of Bob the Builder-on-a-stick today!!

Not sure where or how I will mount the lightning bolt yet so I just tucked it behind it for now and it wedged in pretty good.

And I’m not sure how my daughters AAU schedule showed up but I couldn’t get it to delete...so now you know where I’ll be at this spring

Received the full set of Cliffy protectors recently. They are great. The Sim Card one is a nice improvement over the factory protector. I actually made the shot from the upper flipper a couple of times today instead of relying on a lucky bounce. I installed all the rest except the phone scoop. The factory one seems okay for now although I'll swap them out soon. Great product.

Man. This is just wrong in so many ways.

Quoted from DarthSinex:

That's interesting. My glass also came scratched directly over the area where the lightning bolts move left and right. Near exact diagonal track of the bolts and scratches on the underside of the glass. What was the outcome of your conversations with jjp on this?

I know this response is late but I just received a replacement InvisiGlass free of charge.

So say somebody else just finished playing a game and leaves before entering in their initials - so you are so nice as to enter them in for that person - you would think then the game makes a picture of you. - But no, Dialed In is so clever it apparently compares pictures of the person who played the game with the person entering the initials and if they don't match up it uses a picture taken during game play. Nifty right ?

I once tried to cover my face with my hand, it also used a different photo. Putting my hand on my chin - that was accepted.

A week or so back I had the lights on in the basement in I guess a rather strange way and the game kept taking pictures of my arm - so it does get confused sometimes.

In case you're wondering that's all the experimentation I have done so far.

I have a ceiling fan right above my DI, and 90% of the time it takes pictures of the fan instead of the person playing lol

Definitely needs some improvement

The big bang lighting effect is just the coolest. I would even like to see them take it further and make it even more dramatic!

It is great but the trouble with making it even more dramatic is the ball is usually still in play when you hit it, it's hard enough keeping an eye on the balls or balls as it is

Just got in Mantis's prototype phone scoop protector. You're going to love it when it's done. Very high quality and no covering of the playfield art, but fully protects the hole. Hopefully 1-2 weeks out.

Yep, i think the camera software needs some tweaking. Often i get shots of my arm during selfie mode and/or entering a high score. Also, i often play 2 player games with my 7yr old, i am 1.85m and he is 1.25m tall, so not sure if that confuses the camera even more?

I also wonder how much lighting affects the recognition software in the camera - i have a twin fluoro on the roof behind my head, so am thinking about changing the position of the machine in the line up so it is between lights that are behind the player if this interferes with the camera.

Just got my DI LE over the weekend. As usual, the guys over at Game Exchange are a pleasure to deal with. I barely gave this game a thought it June when I saw it. I thought a cell phone themed game was probably the worst idea I've ever heard, and we have WWE pinball. Also, in June, there was basically no code.

Fast forward 6 or so months, I was looking at buying a Hobit but decided the game wasn't for me. On a whim I start researching Dialed In and I was just blown away. For me, risk/reward, modes, and speed are my top three most important qualities in a pinball game, this was it. This game is so much fun, both because of the big things like the rules, but also the little things, like the little sounds it makes when you hit the skill shot.

My game wasn't without issues. My first big issue was that the left loop was rejecting almost everything. Upon inspection, it it goes up a little ramp before it gets dumped on the other side of the orbit. The ramp flap in the upper left corner of the game was raised. As luck would have it, you have to remove EVERY ramp to get to it. So I did and I fixed that issue.

When you guys shoot the left ramp, how often does it make it to the upper flipper? My shots don't go around super fast, it makes it to the upper flipper probably 60-70% of the time, but it feels like it just barely makes it.

My right orbit is also rejecting 30-40% of the time, I'm going to try the fix that Pat suggested to another pinsider and see if that helps.

I gotta say though, when this game is flowing, when the orbits and ramps are working, this game is absolutely amazing. The flow, the pressure, the theme are all great. I'm not sure how this cell phone / disaster / retro / sci-fi/ Illuminati theme works, but it does. I have no idea what the theme of this game is, but I love it. Maybe it's the awesome layout (when you get it working), and the crazy good rules etc affecting my judgement there, but it's all great.

Is he doing one for the SIM hole

#2822 6 years ago

Well. I tried bending the right ramp entrance down per pats instructions and it did not help.

Unfortunately, what helped, is tape over the ramp flaps and rivers. This proves the problem is at the very entrance to the ramp. I flipped 10 shots to the right orbit, all 10 shots cleared the ramp. I can’t help but wonder if the left orbit is having a similar issue.

How to fix it I have no idea. Hack fix pic attached.

#2823 6 years ago

I spent the last hour bending that piece every which way and nothing helped.

Just for fun, I put a piece of tape over the ramp flap on the left side now my left orbit shots are a lot quicker...

I’ll work this out with support.

Mylar to the rescue! If this is the fix, it's actually pretty easy.

#2825 6 years ago

A better fix would be to drill out the rivets, cut to shape some thinner steel and reattach.

So my NIB dialed-in is playing great but there are two little issues that I noticed immediately.
1. One of the LEDs in what I would refer to as the laser pulse inserts is missing the red color. I sent a picture to my distributor and JJP is going to mail me out a replacement LED board. This is understandable as things happen in transit.

2. My audio has a horrendous amount of feedback and static. Now I see in this thread that people have talked about it being a known issue. I'm not sure if it happens on every game but mine is definitely super noisy when the audio is off. I submitted a ticket to JJP and they responded with an amazon link to buy my own filter. It's a pretty simple solution, but why the fk are they sending games out with a known issue and then expecting the buyer to pick up the tab on a part? They said they could order me one from the factory but it'd be faster for me to just buy it on my own.

I don't typically let little things bother me but the fact I just dropped 8k on a toy and the company basically acknowledges something is wrong with the game and expects me to alleviate it really rubs me the wrong way. I like JJP way better than Stern but ignoring known problems isn't a good way to conduct business.

Anyone else have this static issue and get the same response?

I'd probably just buy the thing on Amazon, BUT after dropping $8K on a toy with a known issue that is covered under warranty and being told to pay/fix it herself, my wife would probably head to JJP and rip someone's heart out Temple of Doom style.

I ordered it on Amazon - it's the principal of the matter not the money. Someone play tested the game, definitely heard blaring static and was like - "good enough". Ship IT!

Yeah I'd be pissed off don't get me wrong, but at some point you just want the damn thing fixed and I guess that's what they're counting on, right?

I'll tell you what, though. It turns me off from buying a DILE. I'm this close. But there's a lot of machines out there on the market at 1/2 price or less. Why deal with the BS?

Not all games have issues, I'd guess most don't. Mine has been flawless, nothing I couldn't easily fix myself. Only issue I really had was chipping on sim card hold and I wasn't happy I had to buy a cliffy set, but the game has been fantastic otherwise.

If you like tz and fh, you will love di. If tz and fh aren't your cup of tea, you may not like di as the shots are very familiar. The code is deep, it has great sound and visuals and cool toys.

The game is awesome - I'd buy it again even knowing of the minor issues.

So you have no static? - I have 2 prong outlets in my home. I wonder if that's the issue..

I get a pop on start up, same with hobbit and woz, but zero static thereafter.

For those of you that have an LED out on your phone and/or intermittent phone screen going blank, here is an update. I had both problems. LED 24 on phone burnt out and on about 3 occasions, the phone screen went black and the only way to fix was rebooting machine.

JJP sent me a replacement phone which was very easy to swap out. All the lights now work.

When taking out the old phone, I noticed a lot of rattling. I could see two screws completely loose inside the phone case and they would roll around. I can only assume that those screws could periodically short something causing the black screen. We will see if the new phone remains flawless.

It's usually a location-specific wiring issue, so they probably heard nothing at the factory.

Would you please share a link to the part? I have the same problem with my 1 day old DI LE.

I also had the backbox screen go blank and the only way to get it back was to reboot the machine. Since I've only had it a day I haven't reported it yet, but if it happens again I will. Anyone else have this problem? I see reports of the phone going blank, but not the backbox screen.

Yep mine had the same issue. I called them and they shipped me an audio filter, ($9 thing on Amazon). It's purpose is to remove ground loop noise. It fixed the same issue, and took 3m to install. JJP shipped me one, but it took 2 weeks to arrive. While I was waiting impatiently, I ordered one on Amazon prime and it came in one day.

Here's what I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075PPR88J/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00

Just pop open the back cabinet, and you will see the 3.5mm cable for audio plugged into the main computer behind the screen. Plug it in and secure with some zip ties. Problem solved.

Oh, yeah. Older wiring can cause all sorts of issues with electronics. If you have 2 prong outlets, that wiring is likely well over 50 years old.

Mine had proper grounding in the outlet, and still had annoying static constantly (like water always running). Maybe it's a loud factory floor?

Anyway - $9 Amazon gadget, 3m install. Fixed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075PPR88J/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00

Just because you have 3 prong outlets doesn't necessarily mean the ground connection is good. It could be a poor ground causing the noise. There are testing tools to check the quality of the wiring job.
