Check JJP website pictures

#12152 2 years ago
Quoted from Green-Machine:

Older runs had the light for taking photos on top of the head.

The SE has the additional flash light in order to properly light peoples faces for the camera (Selfie Mode, highscore), since the SE is missing a bunch of playfield lighting compared to the LE/CE.

my le has some error messages mybe someone can help

first: bluetoth dongle not found. I tried the one from gnr and did a new full install, both dont work. Aslo tried to connect it directly at the pc. no luck

second: all eos switched didnt work. I check j601 at the i/o board and its fine. I tested the switches with a multimeter at the j601 connector and they work.

any idea ?

thanks in advance

Did you check continuity of each wire from EOS to I/O board ? If so and that is good. Than an issue on the I/O board.

LTG : )

#12157 2 years ago

i tried the following. i did a jumper directly on the i/o board from j601 1 to 4 , 5 and 6 all works. so i think the connector itself is the problem. i will replace it

any idea on the bt dongle ?

thanks

This really sounds like a broken wire.

If I test directly at the connector with a multimeter and push the switches manually and they work, then it can’t be a defective wire. Or am I wrong ?

So, just got reminded of the one thing I disliked about this game... The SIM shot!

I finished 6 modes on ball one, and then drained and lost everything. With two multiballs running, I didn't even hit the shot once!!!

What's the trick to hitting it?

I’ll offer up my philosophy, maybe of use, maybe not: firstly, flashing sim cards are set on my machine to carry over to the next balls - I find it just too frustrating otherwise. I’ll try to hit the sim card hole with the upper flipper, but it’s a tight shot, so I don’t get it too often. So here’s the thing - the game plays up the word “quantum” - in science circles quantum deals with the probability of a subatomic particle being in a certain place at a certain time - so I imagine the ball being a subatomic particle and I do what I can to increase the probability that a ball is near the sim card hole when I need to get that shot. The angle of the sim card hole is such that if the ball is rolling downwards the hole is pretty big so if your ball is rolling around near the sim card hole it might just go in. I also try to increase that probability with multiball - with DI you have a certain flexibility starting multiball when you want. I don’t know if Pat Lawlor had this quantum concept in mind when he created DI, but I do have the impression he’s kind of a scientifically oriented guy. It suits me just fine because I’m a scientifically oriented guy, in fact it’s one of several things I really like about this game.

Well that was the reason they put the light on the backbox in the first place, however it's totally possible that they decided somewhere in the production that they actually don't need it. In fact the latest product photos of the SE (http://store.jerseyjackpinball.com/Games/Dialed-In/Dialed-In-Pinball-Standard-Edition.html) don't have the flasher.

#12165 2 years ago

The Drone rubber hit from the left flipper almost always goes in the sim hole. Just a bit later than the right orbit. Not as hard as it looks. Gotta relax on the shot.

#12166 2 years ago
Quoted from NC_Pin:

I have the exact same issues.

I make a new connector and now it works. Maybe worth a look.

For the bt dongle I ordered one that is Linux compatible, I’ll give it a try

Ya I have to agree that the bounce of the drone rubber from the left flipper to the sim hole is a good choice!and the carry over to the next ball.

The wifi updates, Bluetooth, Scorbit functionality has not been publicly released yet. Just beta testing. Previous Bluetooth functionality was for the DI app, which they currently aren't supporting.

I just asked and they will release an update with the wifi/Bluetooth functionality publicly soon.

I bought this Kinivo BTD-400 and now everything works as it should

So, this is my second time owning this game, and I think I'm enjoying it more the second time.

Maybe distance makes the heart grow fonder. 4 years ago, this was my third game that I'd owned, and I was pretty new to the hobby.

Now that I've been through close to 20 games, I have more perspective.

It's a stark comparison when you put DI up against almost anything in the last 5 years.

But for me, it came after I owned a few mundane Sterns (GOT and TMNT) and after I saw the piss poor quality of Spooky games ( TNA and R&M).

After these experiences, I knew I had to get DI again, because it just checked all the boxes for me, and filled the void those titles above had left.

And now that I have it, I know it was the right call. The game is brilliant!

The people who never gave it a chance because of the theme, really missed out. Theme or not it's an awesome shooter, with super fun code, and it's built like a brick shit house.

But, F that SIM shot! Haha

Game of thrones pro is a fucking wicked game.

Quoted from Tranquilize:

To each their own. On theme, it's everything I'd ever want. But not a fan of the layout, and I've come to the realization, that I'm never owning another Dwight Sullivan coded game.

For play on location, his games are ok. But they're either to shallow or too convoluted for me too own. Or on recent he's, they're incomplete.

Weird question for you guys. I’m looking to pick up a DI. The spot I have for it space wise for the head is small. (Sterns fit there) Does DI have a standard size width wise for the head like woz or the oversized like Wonka and GnR?

TIA

#12174 2 years ago

Oh, and I’m talking depth of head at biggest point not width. I know JJP started making them bigger but I’m not sure on which title. My woz fir in the spot but my wonka or GnR would not.

Thanks again

It's true, it is in the most recent beta build, but DI is getting a release as part of this launch in the coming weeks. I can't speak officially for JJP on actual dates, but the plan is to just sequentially release everything, including POTC.

All I ask for is an epic ending to the already epic wizard mode.

I think after you win the battle, everything should power off, and balls should drain. Then... Epic light/sound show for the finale.

Just would make a great game even greater!

I thought most of the time it is supposed to drop it. Mine only throws it back when there is a package in the theater.

Same. Is there any other time it is supposed to throw it backwards? The theater bash modes all drop it down so it hits the qed guy on mine.

Anyone know if JJP will still help out with non working drones? Debating on putting in a ticket as the game has been out several years.

Are they completely dead? If you manually spin the propellers when in test mode do they work? If so, it is probably just one bad motor and it is pretty easy to replace them. This guy has a tutorial on it. I got all three of mine working for like $10 and little bit of repair time.

https://www.aaarpinball.com/DialedIn/DI.htm

#12189 2 years ago

Top runs if I spin it… middle will run pretty fast.. bottom won’t run at all. LEDs flash on all of course.

Do you know the sequence in drones that would prevent one later in sequence not to work even if it’s good?

Thanks for the link!

Where did you buy the motors?

I don't know the details of how they work. The motors are just standard hobby drone motors.

Yup. On the SIM only. Makes a huge difference. Much more gettable but still not easy. Used Mylar instead. Phone, gotta shoot straighter.

Scorbit_JJP_DI_Achievements (resized).jpgScorbit_JJP_DI_Achievements (resized).jpg

Hey all! Dialed In! is now live with Scorbit and the Scorbit Achievement Platform!

S C O R B I T is an online connected gaming platform. (Note, no "e" in Scorbit.)

Just a few high level FAQs since we'll be welcoming a lot of you into the Scorbit universe. Scorbit has never been just about scores and leaderboards, though all of that is available to you as well as the visualizations on ScorbitVision for you game rooms and large displays. You can always learn more about Scorbit on the Scorbit thread here:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/scorbit-official-thread

Also at our website at https://scorbit.io and our support site at https://support.scorbit.io.

-----

** Q: How much does Scorbit cost?

Nothing for JJP owners. For operators we have a Pro license, but you won't need it for the feature set.

-----

** Q: How do I connect Dialed In to WiFi?

Step 1: Get a USB WiFI dongle

You will need a USB WiFi dongle, if you don't have that already. JJP recommends this one:

https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Mini-Wireless-Supports-10-9-10-14/dp/B07PB1X4CN/

Step 2: Get the Code

You MUST load the latest version of Dialed In! code from JJP. You can get that here:

https://www.jerseyjackpinball.com/support/

Step 3: Configure your WiFi on the game

You must connect the machine to WiFi in from the game's utility > network menu.

**NOTE: YOU MUST SET THE TIME ZONE TO YOUR TIME ZONE IN THE NETWORK CONFIGURATION!**

Step 4: Get the App

Once WiFi is set up, download the Scorbit app here:

https://scorbit.link

Register your account, which will require that you click the validation email sent to you from Scorbit.

Step 5: Pair the Machine

When we say "Pair," what we mean is associate your physical machine with the virtual one on Scorbit for keeping all the scores and achievements. If the machine is already on Pinball Map or you already use Scorbit, it will already be there and the app wizard will detect it.

You can follow these instructions to get your game connected to the platform:

https://support.scorbit.io/hc/en-us/articles/360056606854-Activating-a-Jersey-Jack-Pinball-Machine-on-the-Scorbit-Platform

-----

** Q: Why can't my friends and family see my machine and play?

When you first create your venue, it includes a name, an address, and if it should be public or private. Scorbit uses location to list out venues, closest first, so you can discover places to play pinball. However, if it's private, only selected users can see it on their menus and submit scores to your game.

To make your service visible to other users, go to the Account Menu (your profile pic in the upper right of the app) > My Venues > [Your Venue Name]. You'll see two tabs, MACHINES and PLAYERS. Machines on the left are any machines you want, and they don't need Scorbit to be added! On the PLAYERS tab, add the other users you want to be able to see your venue.

Also, in the Account Menu > Settings > Viewing Preferences, you can set a HOME VENUE that always loads when you start the app, saving you time if you're mostly just playing at home!

-----

** Q: Where can I see the achievements I've earned?

First I should start by saying, when I say "Account Menu," I mean the menu with your player profile picture in the upper right hand corner of the app.

The way you can "go back" to the last screen is with a swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right.

If you go to your Account Menu > Profile, you'll see a feed of all the scores, achievements and challenges you have received, sorted most recent on top. If you click on an achievement here, you do see a detailed view of that achievement.

profile (resized).jpgprofile (resized).jpg

However, if you want a more detailed view, you can press the "Stats" button next to your name in the profile screen. From there, you have two tabs: Stats and Scores/Achievements.

The stats button does what I'm sure you would think it does.

The scores/achievements lets you first search for a game title (such as Guns N' Roses), and then toggle (using the small icon on the upper right of the box) between your scores for that game and achievements for that game. You can click on a score or an achievement for more details of either one.

stats_scores_achievements (resized).jpgstats_scores_achievements (resized).jpg

In general around the app, you can click on a score, or an achievement, for a detail of either one.

details (resized).jpgdetails (resized).jpg

-----

** Q: Where can I see progress towards an achievement?

You can see this on the Achievement Details screen, which you can click on wherever you see an Achievement

IMG_3993 (resized).PNGIMG_3993 (resized).PNG

-----

** Q: Where can I see the master list of achievements?

Yes, we know completionists want all the list! We do this to some degree in different forms already. You see some, but not all, depending on the behaviors/goals the game designers want to motivate.

1) If you visit the Profile > Stats > Machine > Achievements, you will see achievements that you've achieved ** plus any additional achievements ** that are part of the same "achievement group" that you have not achieved. For example, if there is an achievement to hit multiball 10 times, and you've hit multiball 10 times, you may see the achievements for 50, 100, or 1000 times by viewing that achievement and paging through the others in the GROUP box. This is intentionally not a complete list, and it does require that you've at least hit the lowest level number of the achievement. This is because that "master list" concept may have different forms within different achievement groups.

Think of this like you're unlocking new lists of achievements to hit.

2) A feature we are finishing that you will see soon is called the Browse tab. This is the pinball machine in the lower left corner of the app. This is not ready yet, but when you tap that tab, you will get to choose any machine and see various things about it, including achievements (locked or unlocked). It will be release very soon, so stay tuned here. You'll find that some won't be seen or some will be in an obscured state (like mystery), but it will not require that you specifically have hit all those achievements.

Very important: Some achievements associated with the game are not specific to something that happens in the game! Therefore, it's not exactly right to show you those in the context of the machine all the time, and may be invisible to you until you achieve them or someone you follow achieves them.

-----

** Q: When do I receive notifications about Achievements?

Achievements will send to YOU when you achieve them via a push notification. You can turn these off in your preferences. Clicking on your Activity feed will take you directly to that achievement, or they are visible in the other ways described above.

-----

** Q: What's all this about Challenges?

When you finish a game, after you save to leaderboard, you're presented with a screen like this:

challenges_send (resized).jpgchallenges_send (resized).jpg

When you see the options, you'll see a little person with a "+" on it. You can tag other users to beat the score you just submitted. You can choose more than one at a time as well. Add anyone you like, click outside the user selection box, then you'll see the profile pics of the players you tagged. Click on SEND CHALLENGE and they all get notified that you've tagged them to beat your score.

Then what comes next if you're the person who received it is a little bit beta! We record all the challenges you've received for a specific game title. So if you get three challenges for Wonka, one from Bill, one from Bob, and one from Barry, you play each one out, one at a time.

The next time you play Wonka, we count the game against the first one on the list (Bill), and then Bob, and the Barry, successively. Your next game you save to leaderboard for that game counts! You'll see screens like this:

challenges_complete (resized).jpgchallenges_complete (resized).jpg

In this example, the user has won the challenge against his challenger. Then in the various feeds, community tab, Challenges menu, and on the user profiles, you see the results of challenges.

You can ping-pong back and forth on challenges, and also access them all in the menu.

Challenges expire in 7 days! So hurry up and play.

We know there are a TON of things in challenges that are being added in future releases, like the name of the challenger you're playing, and also the Challenge Match, which allows you to pick and choose players, and when everyone is in, and the challenge begins, you get one new game to count against it. Stay tuned for those challenges in a future release.

Anyway, that's just a start. Hopefully that helps! Hit me up with questions.

-Jay

Got it up and running!

Observations...
1. The silly "create USB process" is still funky, but it worked and this is probably the last time I'll do it
2. The upgrade took a while, but worked without problem
3. Signing onto my Wifi worked... although it actually said it failed --- but then showed connected
4. The WiFi code is "simple" in that it doesn't understand a single WiFi network using multiple access points with the same SSID name. By this I mean it displays each access point separately (even if they have the same name). I assume this means that, should I physically remove the AP I selected, it will fail to connect until I select another with the exact same name. This is opposed to most WiFi devices that will auto select from the "best" with the same SSID name.
5. Scorebit was stuck at "Loading Session" the first time I tried. Played a whole game while it was stuck on that screen...
6. But worked after that... I got some achievements! With this update, a little QR code appears in the upper right of the screen. You use this to attach your player profile.

Oh! Don't make the mistake I did!!! I was to eager to install this and forgot it wipes out your high scores! You can solve this by doing a backup, but... I didn't. Oh well.

Some pics...

Here's the end of the full install / update process...

This thing hands out achievements quite easily. I'm surprised there isn't an achievement that says "Powered On!" because you powered on the game

But I'm sure there are harder ones to get. Here's what I got from a single play (and there's more, they don't all fit)
