Same I did a duck tape up and around to block the arouded light.
I searched quick for phone led and only found people replacing the complete phone board. Has anyone replaced a single LED on the phone board? Mine is missing an LED and it wasn't inside of the cabinet or inside the phone. Seems like it would be a simple replacement if I can source the led.

Did you buy the game new? Has it been missing the LED from the beginning? If so, I'm sure JJP will replace it for you.

No, bought it second hand, so no warranty.

Can someone please tell me why there are 2 different versions of the "station 3" building. One has embossed lettering on it and the other seems a bit simpler in appearance. Do they differ between game versions or build dates? And, is the Station 3 ramp area illuminated on the LE version? Thanks.

Station 3 with accent colors are Modded
Thanks. I am familiar with the MEZEL MOD kit. But that is not the issue. There are 2 different models of Station 3 shown at various times for DI. One has scallops on the roof and a Station 3 decal on its' side; the other has raised lettering on both its side and roof designating it as 'station 3' and is cosmetically more attractive in my estimation. I have not received my DI LE yet as it is in transit so I am not sure which version I will receive. I called JJP today but the gentleman I spoke to did not know the answer so I'm hoping someone on PINSIDE does. Maybe it is as simple as JJP changed suppliers but I'd like to know what the answer is. Obviously, The MEZEL MOD kit does not work with the raised lettering version.
Quoted from Kawydud:My LE game has the station on top in this picture. It is not lit up.

I had wondered this as well. What gives? Was there a design change?

No idea, I did a quick search of old for sale games and they all seem to have the one I have.

Pretty sure the bottom pic is an early prototype
Quoted from dug:Pretty sure the bottom pic is an early prototype
Quoted from Green-Machine:Yes Prototype
Yes. I’ve heard stories of people chasing down the few prototypes that exist to swap the station in their games, but those are few and far in between. All LEs come with the top version in the pic.

That would be cool to have the prototype station
Quoted from CUJO:Had my cell phone in Dialed In do this during game play tonight. Phone stayed that way until I rebooted the pin after the game.
Phone came up ok after cycling power. Running latest code offered on JJP site. Anyone else have the DI phone do this with latest code mid game?[quoted image]
Phone wigs out in all kinds of different ways. Usually a reboot fixes it.
Quoted from FatPanda:I would lean towards the flipper angle as well. When I first got my game, I noticed that my flippers were "droopy." More often than not, I use the lane guides and angle my flippers to run straight from the lane guide. I use my PF level as a straight edge and adjust it that way.
Quoted from Doctor6:Same. I changed the angle of my flipper to a more "normal" angle, and it makes the game play way better.
The big problem is that when you change the flipper angle to have no droop, it greatly affects the right flipper ability to shoot the BOB targets and make the left orbit shot. It can also make shooting the left ramp more difficult too. I've changed flipper parts on my game with no improvement in the feel. The only thing that did help was setting a *slight* amount of droop in the flippers so the side shots can be made.

I took mine off phone scoop and SIM card too. Everything looks great after about 9 months of playing without.
So what is the best way to sink that SIM card shot? I still find banking off to work but it's not really skill more luck. Still find this shot really frustrating bc of that.
Quoted from delt31:So what is the best way to sink that SIM card shot? I still find banking off to work but it's not really skill more luck. Still find this shot really frustrating bc of that.
Only straight shot I can get is by getting the the ball on upper playfield and a roll down to the upper flipper and into the SIM card shot.

It's a bummer, but I use the lucky bank as well. I haven't been able to dial-in that shot with the upper flipper. Just a lame design...chances are, Pat Lawlor can't reliably make the shot either OTOH, JP2 has many cool upper PF shots that are all makable with the upper flipper.
I still like my DILE, but the narrow/clunky phone scoop and wide/clunky SIM card shot make the game more frustrating and less smooth.

I'm thinking about removing one of the rubbers by it. Maybe that could help.
I have no issues with the phone ship e. Mine goes in as expected never see cheap rejects

its my only thing I don't like.
I dont have enough skill to make it so its always random or a bounce off the left ticket target. I've toyed with a design to make the shot larger but I don't think it would make a substantial difference. If I get bored I might make another pass at it and see how it goes.

The shot is large enough...the problem is with the angle of the posts/rubbers.
delt31 the suggestion to remove one of the rubbers is interesting. I imagine the left would be the one to remove. I'm going to try this.

I just remembered...the manual specifies 7/16 OD rubbers. I replaced them with 3/8 OD rubbers and it helped a bit. Did this a couple years ago IIRC.
Quoted from Thot:have made a stl file for this problem pt on my potc and DICE
Hi, did you publish the stl anywhere, or could you send me copy? I was going to design one myself, but if you've already done it, that would save me the trouble.
Thanks

No, the previous owner took it off. He gave me a Mantis protector which I have not bothered to install. I do have new Cliffys as well JJP sent me for the Sim Card and Phone Scoop but I just don't feel I need them installed. I never have any issues getting ball into Phone Scoop as is.
Quoted from Gogdog:Phone wigs out in all kinds of different ways. Usually a reboot fixes it.
Thanks! Yep a reboot took care of it. It's only happened to me two or three times since I got the pin in maybe 180 games approx?
1st time it's happened with the 1.73 code.
Quoted from bbulkley:Mine is on 1.73 and doesn't behave this way.
Ok I went back and reinstalled 1.60 just to see if this issue was related to the 1.73 upgrade, and the voices are super soft on the 1.60 version as well. Anyone know of any tips or items to check?
Thanks Michael

I lost track of your original post, but I had a pinched wire on the speaker in the back box that was causing the voices to come out soft. When I readjusted the wire, it fixed the issue. Might be something to check just to rule it out.

It’s just the voices coming out of the cellphone that are faint, you can hardly hear them (hasn’t been this way for very long). It doesn’t matter if it’s version 1.60 or 1.73. I’ll take a look for any pinched wires, but to me it just doesn’t make sense that some voices in the game are normal while others now are very faint.

I know. I believe that was the same for me. Might have to do with the tone or which speaker they come through.
I believe mine was the right speaker, which kind of makes sense since the phone is on the right hand side.
I too notice the cell phone talk is soft too. Only seemed to happen with the new code 1.73 for me.
I haven't opened the backbox in 5-6 months so doubt I pinched any wires.

Pinched might be the wrong word, but a wire that needed a good wiggle let’s say.
In any case, you can easily check the speakers in the menu system by sending different sounds to the left or right speakers.

Now that you mention it, she does look pretty dirty. I put clear titans on mine recently, seem to hold up well. Found a couple of broken rubbers up top when swapping them out.
I took some old rubbers and ground them down so they are almost like sleeves for the posts around the sim shot. This helped a lot. Can sink direct shots, but they are still hella tough.
Quoted from Gogdog:Sounds like you need a new phone. But not the whole assembly, probably just the screen/board with it. I just got a quote from JJP for $35 plus shipping. (so not super expensive).
There is another member here that just found a way to get it cheaper...but I'll leave it to him to reveal it since he did the work to find it.
I've been silent because I wasn't sure my efforts will be rewarded. Please keep in mind that, at the moment, I DO NOT recommend anyone pursue this path. However, I'll share what I know so far.
I was looking for cheaper/cheap phone replacement. I initially found an eBay seller that seemed to sell exactly the same controller board along with a 4.3" display. This display happened to be resistive touch, but that doesn't matter --- except for the cost. It's less than $50 shipped so I decided to give it a try. It arrived and works great (stand alone).
Some have noticed that Dialed In reports the phone as being 1024x768. Every 4.3" LCD I could find was 480x272. How could this be? I figured the controller board had a scaler built in. It turns out it does... The little LCD with the controller is happy to take 1024x768 output from my laptop and display it on the 480x272 screen.
I haven't tried to put this LCD into the Dialed In case, but I suspect it will fit.
It also came with the screen adjustment board, the VGA cable, an adapter to use it with an external 12V power supply, a Composite input cable (opposed to VGA) and an adaptor to connect it to USB (I assume so you can use the resistive touch).
But once again, I don't recommend anyone buy this because the cost is out of wack. I was told that JJP charges just $35 for the LCD+controller (who'd a thought that! Nothing in pinball is $35). But that was after I ordered this!
However, this effort allowed me to determine more about the manufacturer of the controller board and I've got a line on a $28 (shipped) version with a regular LCD screen. I'll report on that when it arrives... This 2nd one has the potential to be a great alternative.

Thanks a lot for your work on this Altan. You are the best! Looking forward to when you get the $26-$28 shipped version, though I'm 99% certain that its the exact same product and the ebay seller just overcharged you to make money on the split.
