Back when pinball was at its height games reflected current pop culture, not shit that was 30 year previous. May this game look dated in the future? Sure, but who the hell cares? We all agree that MM is a good game, even though it's based on Monty Python? Or that Scared Stiff is good, even though good 'ol Elvira is way past her prime now, right? Or what about Johnny Mneumonic - that's obviously dated now, yet people still like the game.

Further, most of you people bitching own games with similar "kid-like" art and concepts. Roadshow? Yep, kid-like. Monster Bash? Yeh, that's real scary stuff. Cactus Canyon? Whoop, "but there's guns in it!" Yeah, real cutting edge there. Circus Voltaire? Uh, purple neon and transvestites. 'Nuf said there. Funhouse? No good gophers? Etc, etc, etc. Yeah, all you guys are bad asses and only collect games with bitchin' adult themes like, uh Transformers and uh...Demolition Man and like World Cup Soccer. Or Ghostbusters...yep, cuz there's nothing cooler than bustin' some lame ghosts as a theme. Real gritty.

You know, y'all are a buzz kill. We collect pinball machine, toys really, largely because we like to act or believe we are still kids at heart and because we like to play pinball. Well if those two things are true - what's the problem (other than price, I'll totally agree there) with this game there, tuff guys?

Then they really missed this opportunity back in the day.

Hey o-din, don't you own a bunch of EMs? Nothing wrong with that - I just spent an hour playing Night Rider instead of other games in my collection. But, with that said, a lot of EM themes, and art especially, are totally underwhelming.

I like EMs. I own EMs. I enjoy playing EMs. But, c'mom, theme and art of many are really weak and, hence my point, not related to whether it's a fun game to play. It's not like art "technology" is so much more advanced that EMs could not have had cool pictures of demons, Devils, flames, guns, etc. Instead we got a lot of shit like alligators, poker cards, barns, pointy people playing pool, stars, clowns, hearts, ice skating, pointy people dancing, pageants, pointy people singing, pointy people playing bingo.....ugh. I'll take Crazy Bob any day.

Quoted from o-din:

If you think beautiful scantily clad women are more underwhelming than a cell phone, then yes.

That's the problem. Too many barns, poker cards and ice skating, not enough "scantily clad women". Unless you like pointy scantily clad women, lol.

No, there's nothing sexy about a cell phone. But, this is JJP. We knew it would be family friendly regardless of theme. My point is this art is way better than that which is on games that are considered classics.

Yeah, o-din..the exception does not prove your point. I thought of Fireball too when making the post. I only wish more EM art looked like that instead of this:

Quoted from o-din:

And what point? How many recent games have beautiful, scantily clad women on them?

None, unfortunately, but I thought your point was EMs have that kinda art.

Lol at people here claiming to hate the DI theme and artwork, but are excited for Toy Story. I mean, what the heck? You hate the giant robot girl in DI, but can't wait for a pin with a flying robot man? The cell phone is stupid, but you're excited about a kids toy cowboy? Meteor showers, acid rain and sink holes are dumb, but can't wait for Mr. Potatohead? Ok, then.
