Quoted from jar155:That is awesome. Already a smooth shooter on those protos, but hearing it's better in the production game is exciting.
Didn't think that would be possible!
Just got word my DI standard is shipping at the end of next week! Way earlier than expected, thanks to Chris @ Kingpin Games!
Quoted from Concretehardt:Can you post a pic of this?
Quoted from CafeOne:I've seen the option in the menu for the flash topper , can't believe the standard gets something special the LE owners don't get!?!
Hey, I didn't get a comic book so there.
Quoted from pinghetto:I didn't know... That's why I asked. Usually it's nice to have most of the bells and whistles on your $9,000 LE game
I spent $8000 and I DIDN'T EVEN GET THE COMIC BOOK!
Quoted from PinMonk:They have the metal standoff protectors installed from the factory. The one we have here has the same pinch point, WITH the standoff installed.
One thing I prefer is the plastic leg protectors that Stern uses. They seem a little thicker than the metal ones. Haven't checked my decal yet...
Quoted from Eskaybee:Few questions:
- who's the go to distributor for dialed In? And is the best price on an LE $9k (+shipping?) or is shipping included and/or are there better street prices? Feel free to ok if so
- what's overal consensous of quality? Decals tearing, cc chipping, etc... minority cases or is quality a concern for a $9k nib?
Thanks in advance.
I was very happy with Chris from Kingpin games, and got my DI SE WAY ahead of what was originally scheduled. He offers free shipping for veterans and double the factory warranty so mine was $8k shipped.
Quality was overall good, a few known issues but as with everything this complicated, early adopters help work out the bugs for the company a lot of the time.
Quoted from psexton:Any idea if we have to contact JJP or will they automatically mail them to the address you registered the game under?
Open a trouble ticket on the website to get in line for the protectors.
Standard is absolutely fine. I don't even notice the ramp, or the theater plastic and to me the city acrylic looks better on the standard because it has some color unlike the laser etched piece.
Quoted from PinMonk:It was easy. Just the two screws at the flap, lift up the ramp and rest it on the QED guy's head. Much easier than I expected. You need a 1/4" wrench for the two posts on either side of the SIM card slot that are unscrewed from the top.
I have some pictures I took. I'll post them when I get them off the phone.
Thanks goodness. Looks like it would be a lot worse to install. I noticed my sim card hole left side has a "buck tooth" split under that metal guard as well. Hope isn't too bad.
I may do the same thing. I didn't really like the look of the 3 piece "cliffy" that JJP is sending (or not?) out. Cliffys' looks a lot better.
Probably that way because once again (like Cliffys) they won't just pony up and make a deal with the guys in Germany who've been making these for awhile and doing it much better.
I'm not sure why you'd want one of these on a new modern game anyway, they can certainly add some headaches and won't do anything to avoid the chipping clearcoat on playfield's that is the new normal.
Quoted from cwales:I don't care about normal clear coat chips at all, I run a public arcade and expect stuff to get beat up. I thought I'd try it since it was a factory option and there's spots on our WOZ worn to the wood.
It's not feeling like a $150 add on when it screws up gameplay.
Well, don't know if you want to double down but I've got these on a couple of games with no issues.
