I see they changed the backbox side art, but can someone clue me into the lack of name change? I thought I remembered they announced they were going to change the name because the Dialed In one got a crap reception, what happened? The Chaos in Quantum city part is new, is that like a sub head title?

Quoted from Ballypinball:

Great reliable game for operators as well

I'll be shocked if operators line up for this one. My op friends have no interest in unlicensed themes, which sucks, but they just don't get coin drop as much as the licensed ones. And the price mean recouping is even further out. This is still the Stern Pro advantage that no one else has been able to touch.

People like Whysnow who route games as a passion sure, but not actual "hey I do this to make a living" ops.

I love unlicensed themes, this isn't a dig at DI, just what I think is the reality of the market.

Paging Acejedi ...

I'm not an op, would never want to be an op, just repeating what I've been told. I hope Dialed In sells well, I want to see original themes be successful so companies will be willing to keep trying them. But the price and theme aren't op slam dunks.

Differences in the cityscape plastic in the back of the game:

Huh, I'm with you, the printed one looks nicer. Should have combined printing with etching maybe? Not a big deal either way I guess, but if you ask me all this different edition stuff just gets dumber by the day.

Why not just let people pay more for powder coated armor, and toppers and whatever else, upgrade your bling at will, and leave the actual games the same?

Quoted from stpcore:

If I were to try to make a Standard resemble and LE and I sent the armor out for powder I'm probably around $400 or more after shipping both ways. Another $250-$300 for the glass. So now I'm at $700 and I still don't have the extra LED lighting for the ramps, headphone jack, 3-D printed / laser etched plastics etc.

You're totally right, it doesn't make sense to do it yourself, I'm suggesting that I personally would love it if companies would just offer upgrades ala carte and stop making different versions of the games. Maybe they've all run the math and it doesn't make them as much money, or maybe they're actually leaving money on the table by bifurcating the upgrades into packages, I dunno, I'm just generally ranting about how the LE landscape seems to be getting dumber.

This isn't a shot at JJP to be clear, Batman66 was the dumbest of them all, and Heighway's LE offerings are in my opinion silly. Just let people buy beacons or light up ramps or etched back panels, and definitely powder coated armor. From the factory, no extra shipping, just pay them for upgrades.

Spooky is basically doing that with TNA, and it's the model I like best.

That said I can also imagine the potential nightmare of costly mistakes regarding order accuracy when too many options are presented.

Yeah, and it makes distribution a bigger headache, I hear you. Is what it is I guess.
