It's for the right side of the apron if you want to put the card (also in the coin box) that say $1 per play. I took the one with the instruction card off so the apron is completely exposed. Shame to cover up such a nicely designed apron.

Okay, here's what I did to install the sim card slot protector. Just removed the two flap screws from the ramp, and then lift it and rest it on the QED guy. I had to tilt it to get it past the station, but that was the only tight spot.

Here's the SIM card hole before any protection, as it came from the factory. Pretty nasty chipping on the left edge after only a few hundred plays.
