I'm working on three non-working machines, Time Machine, Phantom of the Opera, and Simpsons. Time Machine functions the best out of the three, with first noted issues being flashers locking on and the only sound being "pychadelic man, seventies, far out," during play. Simpsons boots to GI and Phantom is completely dead.
Anyways, I'm wondering if I can switch all boards around universally to have an easier time diagnosing issues. I've purchased a universal power supply board, which I know I can switch around, but the MPU, Solenoid driver board, and Sound boards, are my concerns. I know that I'll probably lose some functionality if I put the Time Machine PPB board in Phantom or Simpsons, due to a lack of TIP36C's, but could I damage something by making that switch? I also realize I would need to switch out the EPROMs when moving around MPU and sound boards, but again, would I be damaging something here?
Any advise here is greatly appreciated.
